Any recommendations for staying in Jomtien close to the beach with the

Tilac and 2 kids. Read some mixed reviews, so hopefully I can get

some first hand advice from the BM's. Making plans for April.

Thanks, Tom in Ct. USA

Silversand vill is a great place ,very childfriendly ,2 pools, beautiful garden and direct at beachroad.

There is an older part with hudge rooms from 800 baht, other rooms 1200-1500 baht.

Book rooms at poolside ((old part))),other rooms are all poolside.

I couldn't quite tell - are there rooms with a sea view also at Silversands?

And what about guests - is there a joiner fee?

As for the original question, Silversands is close enough to central Pattaya that you should not have transport issues. And since you are staying as a family you really have no great need to be heading to the bar zone frequently. I think you are okay as long as your hotel is not much farther than Soi 5 or 6.

I just returned from there, but I was living much farther south - beyond Chaiyaphruek Road. Baht buses dont go there as a matter of course - you had to negotiate and they usually settled for 20 baht. I never returned late at night, but I suspect it would have been much more then. Again, I was with someone so it was not a great issue with me. But it would have been a pain if I was barfining frequently.

How about any longstay places with monthly rates? The only place I've checked out with monthly rates is the Nirvana Suites on Jomtien Soi 4. The hotel is lovely and there'w WiFi, but the pool kind of sucks.

Well I lived in the Jomtiem Beach Condos near Soi 9, which is pretty far south. I never had a problem with a Bahtbus, but I was married to a TW, so I did not do the bar scene (Well once or twice).

Every morning my TW would get up before dawn, and walk to beach, feeding several Monks as we went. Brings back fond memorys...

I would love to stay in the Jomtien area on my next 30 day trip later this year, the only thing that's stopping me is that it's just to far away from my favorite bar "The RockHouse" :3some :bonk

Not going to go there - I's seen the light!...

BTW, you will have to take 3 bahtbusses - One to Pattaya south, one to Soi Barthou (Sp) and then one to the rockouse.

As an alternative, you could stay on the bus till Mikes mall, and then walk east a few hundred meters to the Rock House.

OMG, what am I doing! giving direction's!

Most new rooms have a sea view but only the top floors becaus the garden and reception are blocking the view a bit,all buildings are not higher then 3 floors.

No joiner fee and a very friendly staff, all my girls over the years felt more then AT HOME there.

The hotel has lot,s of regular guests, once there then no need to look any further on Jomtien.

The hotel is just 200-300 meters from the road to pattaya and next to soi whitehouse.

Never had a problem with transport, even till very late at night.
