Ok this is my poblem thought i would I would treat us to a little comfort as we are traveling with my six month old baby so i paid for business class tickets to england for a small trip back home cost £2000 ouch. When booking i stressed that i need a bulk head seat with a basinet (baby bed) no problem said the guy so i got the ticket with my seat numbers whent home and looked on Emirates web site at the seating plan and my seats on the plan are at the back in the middle not bulk head. So i call Emirates and tell them about my seating and the guy tells me no sir your seats are at the front bulk head so i tell to check the seating map after a hour holding on the phone he comes back and says uh oh ok what do i want to do then. This pisses me off besause they dont say sorry for ######ing up so i tell him to give me the seats i asked for he then tells me sorry sir as the plane is comeing from oz all the front seats are booked up. What the frig so why when i booked did they tell me i had a bulk head seat and now i dont someone lied to me to fill seats. So now i have two options one cancel the tickets and wait 45 days for the refund whch is shit because i am supposed to fly in 19 days option two take the flight and have a crying baby on my knee all the way not my idea of a comfortable business class trip. If i do take the flight i hope she keeps everyone awake as its a night flight so the Emirates staff get lots of complaints. i have been to the Emirates office at Asok in Bangkok with no joy in typical Thai style no one is admitting to the mistake and are of no help. So i feel i have been let down by Emirates in a big way and at worst lied to to fill seats and to date no one has said sorry to me maybe because this would be admitting to a mistake so what can i do any help please

No chance of any help from Emirates within Bangkok because of loss of face. TIT

Take the seats allocated but complain in WRITING prior to flying and make sure someone signs for your letter in the Bangkok office.

Email as well prior to flying-print off email when sent.

Upon return follow up with Emirates in UK.

You'll probably get a couple of free seats if you complain persistently but politely.

Try joining their frequent flyer programme (www.skywards.com) then phone their office in Dubai on #9714 316 7000 or Manchester on #44 1625 445 402 (from UK 0870 241 2251). Maybe that'll help you to get some help or at least a freebie. If you don't want to join their frequent flyer programme, let me have your name and dob. by PM and I'd love to add you to my family as a brother in law and get 20% of your miles!!!! That's serious, but MORE seriously I hope you get some satisfaction. I've always found Emirates to be good, but looking on their website for a flight to LOS recently they're getting expensive, and full.

Not overly surprised to hear about your problems with Emirates. I have found that in the air they are pretty much as good as it gets with food, service, amenaties, entertainment etc. When it comes to reservations, reps and client service on the ground I find them extremely disappointing.

I had a problem with Emirates a few years ago when I was flying back to Australia from Glasgow via the Dubai. I was promised free accomodation in Dubai due to the long stopover. When I got there I was treated like shit by the Emirates reps. Was lied too and palmed off at every turn. Wrote to them when I got back to Australia and the reply was pretty much a standard form letter saying it was my fault and that they were sorry that I was unhappy but it wasnt thier fault etc, etc.

The below email address is the one they used to get back to me. Give it a try and I really hope you have more luck than me.

why bother flying Emirates in the first place?

Plenty of other airlines offering much better service both on the ground and in the aire!

I am a member of Emirates frequent flyer club, Skywards, and have flown with them many times. However, I am finding more and more that the aircraft are getting fuller, Dubai airport is now getting too busy with the queues for the security machines getting out of hand and people of all nationalities lying on the floor sleeping, presumably waiting for connections. Also their prices seem to be creeping up. For instance around 100 GBP minimum more expensive from UK to LOS than Etihad or Qatar. If that's the price of their success, then I'm happy that I've used my airmiles up with a free flight. I shall now be looking at other airlines for my trips to LOS. Perhaps when they've completed their new terminal at Dubai, and if their prices come into line I might reconsider.
