Just booked 2 flights and been allocated 62 e+g, does that mean ill have somebody between me and the bread knife?

I just returned from the LOS yesterday. I was to have taken an Eva 777 from BKK to TPE but the flight kept getting delayed. I went to the window and saw a whole bunch of guys underneath the right engine of the 777. It wasn't clear what was going on. At some point many of them got on their back and started pushing on the engine with their feet. I'd never seen that before. Then everyone went to the side of the engine and stared pushing there.

 

This strange repair job went on for over an hour. I think they were trying to get the cowling back on and just couldn't manage to get the screw holes to line up.

 

I got a bad feeling about getting on this plane. Lucky for me they canceled this flight and we were rebooked on a China air flight.

 

I took some video. Maybe I should upload it to YouTube. I doubt these were FAA approved aircraft repair procedures.

When I was stationed in Vietnam with the US Army, I'd occasionly fly with Air America (CIA) Airline. On one flight the Vietnamese crew chief runs to the back of the cargo plane with a two pound sledge hammer and starts to pound on the control wires. At this point I can say he had the full attention of the passengers. He finishes what he's doing and runs back up to the front about a minute later one of the two engines freezes and the over loaded plane banks to the right and it looks like were going to crash. It took the pilot about 10,000 feet to recover. I thought I bought the 'big one' that day.
