The PS3 has not been released in Thailand yet by Sony. The ones on sale are all grey market imports and are grossly overpriced.

Really?

I spotted some for sale in a shop next door to the cinema in Cebtral Festival. Glad I didn't take it any further. Do you know the official release date?

Cheers Pete.

As far as I know it has not been announced yet. With the PS2 it was 18 months after the American release. I don't think the Thai market is a priority.

  • 1 month later...

Has anybody bought one, taken it home, and all is working OK in regards to the regions?

I understood that they were no longer locked to any specific region for game playing, but they were for the DVD playback, which would be for the blueray capability.

I'm in town in a few weeks, and was thinking about getting one, but only if its going to work when I get it home!!
