Guys, we are heading to Chiang Mai for a few days before we hit Pattaya, (18 days of golf and sex would kill us!) I have researched the courses there, and have picked out a couple to play at, but I'd like to know if any of you have recommendatiosn regarding which courses are good value for money, or if you know of any specials or deals which are available to us. Any info of past experiences would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time.

No recommendations for good deals unfortunately, but I would recommend

- Highlands - the best course I have played - American Style all done with bunkers, water and slippery greens

- Royal Chaing Mai - always in beautiful condition - more English parkland style but with coconut trees

- Lamphun - carved out of the jungle and tricky - Thai style

All three are different and all good

I also understand that the Gassan courses are very good as is Santiburi at Chiang Rai but I haven't played them.

Green Valley is good but the other 3 rate higher in my book.

Lanna is average but near

All the couses in Chiang Mai are alot greener than Pattaya courses - more rain!

For top end student totty try '20 Karaoke' any Baht bus driver should know it, private rooms will be expensive, I understand the service girls at Lanna do a turn as being next to the Army base they are used to propositions for horizontal jogging.

All information is subject to change

The 9th at Lamphun - wait till you see the 18th

Hi BellMac

I run a golf tour company in Thailand - Solar Golf Ltd.

We have a representative in Chiang Mai so we would be happy to arrange your golf programme. We normally offer an all-inclusive price for green fee, caddy fee and transport to and from the courses.

I agree with the course recommendations - Highlands is probably the best course in Chiang Mai and then you will enjoy Royal Chiang Mai, Green Valley and Lamphung. If your group are low handicappers, then I would put Gassan Khuntan on your list.

If you care to send me an email to sales@solargolf.co.uk with your arrival and departure dates, number of rounds you want to play and the dates you want to play, we will work out the best deal for you.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards.

Doggie
