Help, What is a streaming Music License

Recommended Posts

There seems to be one music license issued by Banglamung. We have it at Lennie's (did cost very little money, and looks impressive among the collection of framed licenses in the bar) but to be honest I don't have the slightest idea what it is about. I will try to get it translated so I know what it says.

Dave, do you refer to the license issued by MCT Phonorights in Bangkok? This one is good for foreign music, and a few Thai companies. As long as you've paid for that you should be ok. Just one thing to add: You would need the same license also in case you only ply live music in your club, and no CDs, Radio, MP3 whatever. eason is that the license also cover the composer's royalties. That is unless your bands only play their own unregistered original compositions.

As we all know in Thailand, there is the law, and there is the connection, that quite well is superior to the law, sometimes, that is, until your connection meets with a higher connected one ....

To be on the safe side, contact MCT Phonorights. I assume you don't play Thai music at all in your bar.

Have a look at www.1stopmusic.com, download the information leaflet (in English) and contact them by phone. They speak good English.

Out of the 2 words "connections" and "legal" I prefer the latter.
