Decorating a "Shell unit"

I am buying a couple of "Shell" Studios at Nova Mirage, Naklua.

 

 

One company that has been given to me for decorating them by Nova is Paradise City Property.

 

1. Has anybody had any experiences with them (good or bad)?

 

2. Who did your shell decoration and were you pleased?

 

3. Does anybody have any other recommendations.

You'd think Nova would be in there with their sticky mits on this one wouldn't you ?

 

Its not rocket science you know. Just go to pretend you are want to rent or better buy somewhere the same size and take some photos to send back to the non existent "wife" in whatever country.

 

Go to the Home Pro etc. and have a look at their bedrooms and kitchens, bathrooms etc.

 

Basic advice, don't over bathroom. I have seem 2 bed 4 bath condos - WTF ? But, don't make the bathroom too small.

 

In a studio, don't go OTT on the kitch area, people are not going to entertain at home. Bathrooms still sell.

 

Don;t get chipboard furniture. Get reasonable quality and it will last. I would not necessarily pay for made to measure. You can work around standard sizes.

 

If for resale, then think about the that that the new owners may want to rip it all out and therefore not pay for it. Renters will pay more for the "luxury" but not necessarily expensive touches.

 

Good aicons are a must, quiet is the key. Service contracts are necessary too.

 

I've seen guys spend loads on crap and some guys work wonders on very limited budgets.

 

Think about what you want to achieve and work backwards to find a budget.

Thanks Mate..yes of course I understand the implications of Nova giving me the details of this company. My problem is that I am only in LOS for a couple of weeks in July to come collect Mrs Bullfrog and drag her back to Africa again. My next trip will be Xmas.So time for investigation is limited.

 

If you know of any other "full turnkey" companies can you give me their details...

I rent a double room condo in View Talay 2A. The original owner put an aircon unit in the living room only. In the bedroom, he installed a good ceiling fan, which I have to say I prefer. Apart from being better for your health, it's also considerably cheaper - less than 1 baht per hour to run.

If you really have suck limited time are you going to give the contract to someone and "hope for the best" ? I would not seriously ask anyone here to go about a project if I was not available to monitor it on a regular basis.

 

If really forced into a corner, then "copy this" from an existing similar sized and shaped shell would be a possible solution.

No Mate, but me and Mrs Bullfrog are back in Namibia now ( she is bloody freezing ) so it will now have to wait untill Xmas which suits me fine cos everything will be paid up and finalised by then ( I hope )...Perhaps we can share a beer when we get back...

She loved West Africa, we were there for a couple of years....but this is her first time "Down South" !!!! She has only been here a couple of days and is still wearing a coat indoors...but at night I allow her to cuddle up nice and cosy with me!!!Aaaaaaah!
