Gulf Air Not Doing Dublin-Bkk Route Any More !

Recommended Posts

Tried to check prices on the Gulf website & they don't seem to fly the Dub-Bkk via Doha route now . Only option seems to be to travel to LHR first then onwards . :D

Mind you we have the new Etihad route , though it seems to be fully booked for the next 2 months !

They are getting out of the long haul business, but will remain a regional airline.

***************

"In March 2007, Gulfair announced the plans to retire its entire Boeing 767 fleet. The Airbus A340-300s will also be phased out from the mainline fleet.

Several long-haul routes will be dropped, such as Johannesburg, Singapore Sydney, via Singapore and Hong Kong via Bangkok .

Other routes to be dropped include Dublin and Jakarta.Dhaka will be dropped from Muscat leaving only Bahrain flights. Kathmandu will be dropped from Muscat leaving only Bahrain flights."

Gulf Air shower of bastards - tried to fuck up my May trip by dumping me in Bahrain for 3 days - cancelled the flights and got on Air France - my 3 buddies then got screwed by GA on the way home - will stick with Air France from now on.

Thai Air from Dub to Bangkok and Etihad seem to be quite reasonable at the moment - cheapest Ive seen is China Airlines on www.clubtravel.ie - worth a look.

My 2 cents - cheers !

Gulf Air has been squeezed out by the new and rich groups.....Emirates, Qatar and Ethiad. Gulf was never a good airline whereas these 3 are far superior. Progress....Gulf alway was a bit of an 'all stops in the Gulf'' carrier... I did a lot of miles with them.... mostly dropping off in places I didn't want to go to.

Hi,

Please clarify for me.

Thai Air fly out of Dublin airport? Direct to BKK? or would you fly with what ever airline from Dublin to LHR, or where ever, then change to Thai Air?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Python - Thai Air fly direct from London Heathrow - Their Irish partner is Aer Lingus with plenty of connection options, Give yourself plenty of time in Heathrow as the transfer times can be painfully slow with heavy security. Lookup ebookers.ie or clubtravel.ie to see all of the options !
