Prices from BKK to LHR, in November?

Recommended Posts

As title really! The sister-in-law will (or wants to!) come here in November. Anybody have any idea what a return will cost then (booking from Bangkok)? , or anybody know any good travel agents in Bangkok? Cheers in advance guys!

Emirates 25,500 baht plus tax for 3 month ticket- 26,500 baht plus tax for 6 month ticket

Etihad similar prices.

Eva and Thai 35,000 plus tax on average.

Booking via an airline website can entail the passenger having to show the credit card with which the booking was completed.

Read the T&Cs carefully. Otherwise the passenger will be asked to purchase a new ticket at the full price at the time.

Book via a travel agent. Many can fax you a credit card authorisation form. EVA is the best for direct flights.

Expect just under 42k if paying via credit card via: http://www.atninter.com He'll email you a CC authorisation form. Cash will get you a better deal of around 40k.

If it's a short stay and you don't particularly like her, (Just joking) some airlines have one month tickets for just over £400.

IMO, the least you should go for is Etihad if she's not used to flying. Short stopover with the right flights and good airline, from around 35k.

Otherwise EVA.

THAI and BA are rubbish and too expensive.

Chivas....Where do you get your Emirates prices from? I want to go back to UK in November and return to Pattaya in March. I am an Emirates frequent flyer, and on their website the prices for travel to UK return are over 80,000 baht . If I fly on 31st Oct the price is around 44,000 return. I have checked these prices daily for the past month and will be booking as soon as their November prices are realigned with October prices. I e-mailed Emirates three weeks ago and was told to check their website toward the end of this month when their prices would be adjusted. Do you know something that I don't? I can fly with Kuwait for 31,300 baht return but want to build up my airmiles with Emirates.

One way on 31st. Oct. is 28,110

One way on 1st. Nov. is 84,765 cheapest, (and routing via Hong Kong)

Those prices from Emirates website as I write this post.

Etihad can be had for 20k plus tax on their website during November (26k all in). No need for the cardholder to be present at check-in (you have to supply the passenger's I.D. Document number during the booking process, nothing more).

That's probably a one month ticket and only open to Etihad Guest members... from memory.

Still, check the T & C as to whether the credit card needs to be presented. I didn't mention the credit card holder.

I'm sure that you would wish to prevent any nasty shocks.

In addition to the passenger having to return to Bangkok by the 30th of November, Etihad taxes and charges amount to approx. 8910 baht, making the fare 28910 baht.

If it suits, go for it. Decent travel experience.

I'm missing an edit button. Where is it?

25k++ seems to be the price for Emirates 1 month ticket. Interesting to see if 4niceight gets the prices you quote.

I imagine @ 37 k will be the final price for a six month ticket.

If it is a short trip(less than one month), the Emirates website deal for 28,995 baht(85 baht more than Etihad) may be better, as she can delay her return up to the 9/10th of December.

Do you sense a little rivalry between the airlines?

I believe to have an edit button it is required to be a member of the full forum as opposed to

merely registered on the "Open to Everyone Forum"

An email to either MM or Pattaya Pete would likely sort out full membership.

Some info on that in the "Help" section, blue tab near top of page.

No, it is available to any internet booking.

No, the credit card doesn't need to be presented only, as I said originally, the ID Doc notified during the booking process.

Hmmm.... I remember having to show my credit card at check in. Though I fly with so many airlines, I don't remember if it was Etihad.

I wouldn't take your word for it. The consequences are too severe. A call to the airline office would confirm.

You are right about the Etihad one month deal being open to anyone. The final price is 28965 baht. Back to Bkk by the 30th of November.

No, Jack. The validity period refers to the date of the outbound flight. The return must be made within one month from that date. The price is valid for outbound flights up to and including 30 Nov.

You don't have to take my word for it ....... try for yourself.

I don't think that it is as straightforward as you may think. In reality, I think that they have modified their system in order to match Emirates offer.

You won't find it easy to find that price (of 28965 baht) beyond returning on the 9th. The same date at the Emirates cut-off.

Normally, I would take those as outbound conditions, but for that passage in the Fare Rules.

Thanks for the replies guys, I think the ticket is gonna cost me though. as the sis-in-law will probably stay for about 4-6 months! (mind you at least I do get to Patts alone! for a few weeks in Feb!).

I told the missus, to tell her sister to phone some travel agents in Bangers, she phoned Thai airways instead! They wanted 40,000 ish. i think she will have to fly Eva or Thai or B.A./Qantas, as they are all direct, and she has never flown before and speaks no English!
