I stayed there for about 12 days during December and over into January.

I cannot comment on the food as I did not eat there.

I thought that the rooms were nicely set-up with quality looking furniture. The rooms come with a DVD player, cable TV and a higher quality hot water heater for the shower. The rooms also have a small (not laptop size) safe.

Even though your flavor of the night is welcome, I did not feel like this was the type of place to run in and out with a bunch of BGs. At times the Pub area had famlies, mom, dad and a couple of little ones so be discrete. The bar does triple duty as check-in, bar and ID card collection.

2 problems popped up during my stay:

1 - One morning there was not any water which was rectified quickly with a call to the Manager.

2 - The laundry lady lost a pair of pants.

The laundry part was weird as I had problems with a couple of other places along Soi Beokow during this trip.

The pub has 1 pool table which looks quality to me, but I am not an expert and usually you can get a game or two without problem.

Overall I liked the place and would not have a problem staying there again.

Cheers,

Popped in there for breakfast once which was good grub and reasonably priced.

Went back in on the last trip just for a Coke (and to use the loo).

The pool table is in very good order and the pub has a pool team that has done very well over recent years.

The place was extremely clean and the staff very efficient on both visits. As stated, not what I'd think to be a real 'mongers' pad.

thanks for the replies guys.

although its quite a small detail i am wondering what the maid service is like.if your`e like me theres nothing worse than having to get up and out of your room before you are ready(especially after a heavy night or you have company).

do the maids who clean the rooms work till well into the afternoon or do they finish early and if your`e room hasn`t been seen to...........tough

most places have `please clean room`and `do not disturb` tags for your doors anyway.

last place i stayed (jasmine mansion)was great in this respect, with your rooms being seen to sometimes well into late afternoon.
