Anyone ever had a problem bringing a bar girl back to your place?

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of moving to Bangkok next year and will likely want to go with a bar girl on occasion. Is it foolish to bring her back to my apartment? Is there a such thing as guest unfriendly apartment complexes? I've only been in Thailand as a tourist so I don't really know the score in the residential scene. Also if you have a problem with a bar girl in your hotel room you can just change hotels, not so easy in an apartment so I could see caution warranted. However I don't want to be shelling out dough for a hotel if I have my own place and it's no problem.

I rent a condo in View Talay 2 in Jomtien.

I bring girls back on a regular basis and never have any problems. The security guys at the entrance will take the girl's ID card if requested, but I tend not to bother as if any problems arise, I will be back to the girl's bar to complain the next day.

I did notice one time that they had quite a few ID cards in the desk.

The only reason not to would be if you have a full time girlfriend lets say and she goes away for a week etc.

100percent the security bloke will give her the wink that youve been up to no good.

They all stick together!!!

Bangkok is a big city where people don't want to know their neighbours, just like every other huge city in the world. If your neighbours start to seem to be interested in what you are bringing home -- groceries, business appliances, your blow-up dolls, etc -- tell them not to be so gawdamned nosey and bugger off!

But I can't imagine they would care, unless you have a screamer who wakes them up of course.

I once met a girl in Marine nightclub who worked in a hair salon at the VC hotel. As soon as I saw her my heart skipped a beat as she looked like one of those Hi-So actresses you see on Thai TV.

She was freelancing that evening and so agreed to come back to my hotel. It an eventful night and after seeing her off the following morning I had returned to bed to get some much needed sleep.

My head had barely touched the pillow when I was woken up by the blare of the phone. Who could that be so early in the morning?

I picked up the phone and some guy bellowed down the other end in a thick northern English accent

"She was fecking gorgeous, mate!" and then just simply put the phone down. He had obviously seen her leaving my room and felt he had to make a comment. To this day I have no idea who that guy was.

As this will be your primary residence, you might want to stick to short time places until you are able to better know them. After you've completed your screening you can invite them over.

It would be an absolute horror if the first girl you took ended up being a nutter and hanging around your place or screaming for you in the lobby.

The answer? It depends on where you're staying... If you're staying around Sukhumvit, then it is no big deal, since you're no different than the other farrangs. If you're staying on Lad Prao Rd, without any farrangs around, then you may be the gossip of the building!

If that were the case, he'd be the gossip of the building even without the BG's :D

If he didn't bring any girls back they'd probably start thinking he's gay. Not sure which one is worse.

I have always erred on the side of caution. With a hotel room, there is no issue, but your own place? She might just have a few boyfriends interested in your DVD player, laptop and that safe in the bedroom. Have the driver take a circuitious route.

More likely you will one day have a problem with a keeper though.

How do expats handle this issue? How do you go about vetting new girls before determining if they are trustworthy enough to bring back to your place. Do you avoid taking them to your place altogether?

I've never had a problem bringing bg's back to my condo - though I only ever barfine from a beer bar or a go-go. I always tell them that I rent the condo so they undestand that nothing in it belongs to me.

Your ex-wife was describing her favourite sexual fantasy to her friend and this was how the friend replied...

I never cared who thought what. I just was careful who I took to my place. If I didn't know them pretty well, I always got a room somewhere else.

A "clever" friend if mine always took them to his place. He has a safe in his bedroom and always locked his valuables in the safe. He thought there was nothing else valuable that could be carried out. He took home a free lancer and when he woke up the next morning she was gone. He thought maybe she had gone to get something to eat. Since he had not paid her, he knew she would be back. She didn't come back so he decided to go look for her. He couldn't find his motorcycle key. He went outside and his motorcycle was gone. He never did get it back.

Im concerned about taking them back to a condo instead of a hotel. If nobody else knows shes there, she could do anything while your asleep. I will probably stick to S/T if I rent a condo or just pay the extra for a hotel, but its a lot more expensive to do that in Bkk. Or make sure its a condo that takes their id card.

I actually think you'll probably have more of a problem with a long term reltaionship with Thai staying at your place vs. the occasional night with bargirl and/or frequent nights with occasional bar girls. When in BKK, I've stayed at a friends condo and no problem with ST or LT. However my friend has relationships with TG for a set allowance and she moved in with him. It only gets interesting when he breaks up with them. The conflicts can be quite public and quite threatening. But if your plan is just to have "my friend u" types over, I don't think this is too much of an issue providing that you live in an area with expats. The Thai/Falang thing is already expected.

Again, just my 2 cents.
