recent election

Recommended Posts

The election didn't affect it. The actions of the new government starting next year will probably affect it, and make the rate go either up or down, unless it stays pretty much the same.

Seriously. It's government policy, the Thai economy, the US economy and the world economy that will affect the rate. None of these are knowable. If people could answer your question they would be down at the currency-futures market getting rich.

Well after reading reading how much some of the board members spend in Pattaya, I figured they were rich.

Not all ,some like myself are on a rather tight budget.

PS i have noticed that for the past 2 or 3 years that the Baht has risen a little against the pound in high season but fallen a little in low season ,might have just been a coincidence but that was my observation

Currency rates are just supply and demand. Currency is just a commodity like salt or girls. It's possible high season could touch exchange rates. I've never heard that one, but why not?

The Baht has been strengthening against the Pound for a couple of weeks now i.e. you're getting less Baht for your Pound than you were throughout most of the year. (66.84 for TCs at the booths today).

Thank God for that. Maybe now those mongers from the UK will quit spending their baht like drunken sailors on shore leave and drive up the prices in Pattaya. Should I have excluded the Scots from my comment? :allright
