Lawyer for Condo Purchase

Recommended Posts

Done a search but can't find the thread I have seen before that mentioned the name and contact number of a Thai lawyer that also provided a copy of the documents translated into English.

Would appreciate it if any BM's who have recently completed on a condo could recommend a lawyer and give an indication of the cost.

I have recently completed on a house purchase and it cost approx 30K baht but 20 of that was the setting up of the company.

I used Magna Carta Co. LTD on south Pattaya Road.

Here is a link to the website.Magna Carta

The contract was in English for both parties and all the appropriate searches were carried out on my behalf.

The reason I used this office was firstly due to recommendation and also due to the fact that the company is owned by 3 Thai barristers and hopefully is as above board as you could expect.

The English guy who runs the property section is called Tony Justice and I believe he is a member of the Secrets board but I am not sure about on here.

Anyway good luck no matter who you end up using.

Right on all counts and Tony is a good mate. Hard to find any better in town and they have done loads of good work for me. This is very routine stuff for them also.

I have taken the liberty of giving Tony a link to this thread so he might respond personally soon.

Hi Som nam na.

We can do that for you just give me a ring on 038-373735 anytime from 10.00am Monday to Friday.

Papers we need to do a search

1) copy of land title deed

2)copy of owners ID card

3) house book (if have)

4) Sellers contact details

Is the seller already in the foreign quota? If yes then you can have the condo in your own name but you will need to go to your bank to ask for the foreign money transaction form (thor thor 3) which proves the money used to buy this condo genertated from overseas.

If we make the contract for you it will be in english. All contracts made in Thailand provide they conform to Thai law are valid in any language. If there was a dispute and it was taken to court then the foreign language contract would need to be translated and certified in the Thai Language then the court would accept it as being legal.

Regards

Tony
