I've been toying with the idea of some sort of discount card that the guys that live here could use in the bar but the main problem I have is who would want one and how many, could the members out there let me know and I can then decide how many to print and how to go about this.

Cheers

Dave i have always wondered why more of the falang bars, gogos and clubs dont have a one card suits all card which could be given to regulars or expats. It would certainly encourage some of the guys on a tighter budget to come out more often.

I personally only have one from Mark for the Insomnia owned places and it is deffinately a good marketing tool.

The money i save i usually just give it as a tip to any staff that has given me good service, but i am sure guys would appreciate the gesture.

From a business point of view i am sure it would have to be as near cost neutral as possible coz there are just as many cheap charlie falang owners out there as there are customers. ( not aimed at you mate )

Good idea look forward to see how you get on.

Thats what I want to do but i'm not wanting to hand them out on the door as I wouldn't be targetting the people that matter at the moment, the expats who some i'm sure are on a budget and don't come to blues Factory often, maybe a discount might change that and make it more affordable?

If you gave a discount card that brought your bottled beer to just under 100 baht ,then i would visit the Blues Factory again .

Post an "image" on this board.. "Blues Factory preferred customer card"

Print it out....good to go.

No print costs to you.....easy for the BM's.

Abuse?....perhaps.....take your chances!!!!!

Thats probably what i'll do,

As for abuse yes possibly but we could always announce on the board if we decide to make them invalid.

Sorry wouldn't happen, too cheap, with discount most beers will go down to about 110 - 115bht which I think is reasonable for a live music bar. :thumbup

Maybe use the Pattaya Expat Club and Pattaya City Expat Club cards?

Already given a discount for one of the Pattaya Expats Club (the one with Niels etc) I've contacted the other one and offered one also but had no reply, maybe if someone could show me the cards from both clubs I could give a copy to the cashier so she knows to discount it.

I've also offered the same to Pattaya sports club. :thumbup

Addicts have a discount card as well Dave. Are you on that program.

Yes mate, 15% off in the Blues Factory for addicts members with cards but not including staff drinks or during happy hours. :D

Count me in if you decide to go with it.......I think your place is great.....up to when that guy Morrison goes on that is. LOL

Seriously...I always visit 2/3 times every trip. The price of your drinks has not been an issue with me and as much as I realise why they are a wee bit more expensive it is never a reason for me not to go. But a discount I'm sure will increase numbers through the door and may just encourage me to go more often as I like a bar that recognises regulars and is prepared to offer something in return for there loyalty. :D

When I had a number of bars I ran a scheme between all the venues as well as a few mates places from Naklua to Jomtien but largely as a tool to get people to visit one of my other places when in that part of town.

I played with the idea of all sorts of discounts over the years from website stuff like the Atlantic used to do through to the expats clubs and a weekly raffle prize and some handouts for early doors prices. In the end I worked out that as each of my places was relatively small it was better to chuck a few freebies around rather than offer a general low scale discount.

What about a loyalty card like Starbucks or Subway Dave ? Some sort of card you have to collect 10 stickers and get a free drink. Free is always better than a discount and many people lose the cards so you actually don't have to pay out on them most of the time

As for discounts, then anything is appreciated but beware that you're not subsidising your existing clientele without getting any new trade to offset the costs. If you're knocking off Bt10 or 15 then your cheap charlies will still see it as expensive so I'm not sure where you win on that one.

i've been using the pataya sports club card for 10% discounts for years. problem is i often forget to use it....especially after a few beers! But many restaurants, bars, hotels accept it. join and they give you a book listing discounts.

I contacted the sports club about a month ago and recieved a reply recently, I haven't had confirmation from them but i'm still happy to give a 10% discount to the members. (I'm one also)
