Sorry no help wrt the furniture, just my commisserations. The little sods got most of my kitchen cabinets!

Spraying only controls them..... I was told not to spray, so that the guy could put put down some bait that would be taken back to the queen and kill her off.

Monthly checks now have been clear for some months.

I don't know for certain but there are a number of furniture shops on Theprassit Road. They may be able to point you in the right direction if they can't help themselves.

The bait is likely hexoflumeron. When ingested it stops the production of Kytin (the outer shell) and they suffocate inside their own bodies. Usually placed outside in traps sunken in the ground but does not work for dry wood termites, which is likely what ate this unless moisture was present to start some decay.

Spraying the outside of the wood is a waste of time as they dont eat the outer wood shell to let the light into their nests which they hate.

Basically if you have termites strip the timber out fast to stop it spreading if you can.

What about kerosene Bruce?

(I mean for the termites, I wasn't offering to buy drinks. :thumbup )

That works too but if you are going to try this dont do it at night. :thumbup
