Knowing your budget would be a start, also I presume when you say soi Nana you mean soi 4 as in NEP and Nana hotel, not soi 3.

Try the Dynasty Inn or Grand;

The Stable Lodge is good value http://www.stablelodge.com/

Also some good reports on http://www.everrichinn.com/index.html from a couple of people I know.

This is where I’ll be staying net trip;

This site seems to have the best prices for most BKK Hotels and he will tell you if your choice is GF or not an English guy called Tim runs it never a problem when me and my friends have booked through him;

Good luck.

Woraburi Sukhumvit about 5 minute walk down from Nana Plaza.

Normally about 1200 for standard room-has small pool on roof.

I've stayed at the Majestic Suites and liked it. Around the corner from Nana Plaza.

Grand Business Inn, Soi 11. Stayed there many times, but not in over a year as I skipped BKK last trip. They where charging 1200 baht inc. breakfast, no joiner fee. This is a fairly new property and the rooms are pretty nice.

OK if you like small cramped rooms and dragging your luggage 2-300 meters as the taxi cant get near the place.

Many mongers favourite I know but I don’t rate it at all. :D

Forgot about that one, stayed there a couple of times just after it opened well appointed for the price then and a good location between nana and Cowboy. :D

Swiss park is a good one as well but make sure you book a double bed or you may get stuck with a twin room. :ang2

Being lazy and a traditionalist, I park myself at the Nana Hotel.

Sleazy and convenient, I only have to wander downstairs at any time to select some company.

If I meet a girl at the Biergarten, Gullivers or whatever and they ask where i'm staying, once I say the Nana they know exactly what I'm in BKK for and they know I'm not rich.

Its almost worth staying there for the buffet breakfast just to watch guys bring down their new friends.

There are nicer places but I dont feel the need to change.

Up to you!

Go to Bangkok and decide for yourself if you like it or not!

If you dont, there are about 200 flights a day that will take you away from there and about 20,000 taxis that will take you down to Pattaya.

Personally I enjoy my time there.

A joiners fee is what your hotel will charge you for bringing a 'guest' into your room.

Prices can be as little as 100bt up to 1,500.

Places that charge this are trying to discourage you from bring a girl back to your room ... but they will let you for a price!

Hotels will tell you about joiners fees if you ask. Personally I avoid these places like the plague.

Plenty of choices for no joiners fee hotels in Bkk, Pattaya and Phuket!

Monty,

Thanks for that info; there are some good rates in there. I had stayed at the Adelphi a couple of times when it first opened and it was great value and in a great location but their prices had increased quite significantly on the booking sites that I use.
