Flights out of Australia

Recommended Posts

So far the international sector of our flights is round $500 more than we usually pay, so I am keeping and eye out for deals between the 20th of Dec to 15th of Jan.

This one from "I Need a Holiday" looks good.

If you find a good one can you post it.

Thanks Sue :cussing

Sue,

If you can get that package, for anywhere near the advertised price, for the dates you posted i'd be very suprised.

Flights are much more expensive out of Australia that time of year, even with Jetstar. I always try and book mine at the start of March when the airlines first release their prices, they always get more expensive as the year progresses.

I'll keep my eye out for any deals but doubt there will be any at all over the high season.

Sue,

Khun Onelilley is correct: 'bargain' fares during peak season (Oz & Thai) are improbable to the point of impossible. It's already late in the booking year. Whatever the cheapest fare you spot now, put your money down on it NOW. Seats will just get harder to find & more expensive. Or can you travel outside that peak season?

  • 2 weeks later...

good luck aussiechic, i looked at the end of may for similar times & then it was around $1600 mel-bkk ret but i couldn't commit then.

now it's around the 2k mark, this is up $600-$700 on last year when i booked mid Aug.

if your lucky you might find something around $1800 but you have to look every day

I managed to get $1250 inc taxes adelaide-bkk then phuket to adelaide via Singapore using Singair for November.

I booked it about 10 weeks ago and am glad I did. I just missed the fuel fare hikes.

Advice is to book fares as soon as you know your travel dates.

I fear the days of waiting for cheaper fares close to your departure date are gone.
