I am making my reservation over the next couple of days for a Nov trip and I am having a hard time deciding between Sandy Spring and Sabai Inn.

Here is some of the data for each:

Sandy Spring

- Deluxe room @1600 baht

- wireless internet in room (they claim in the email)

- non-smoking rooms (important to me as I don't like rooms that smell)

- seaview rooms available

- location close to Royal Garden and Walking Street.

- small pool available

- safes at front desk except for suites

Sabai Inn

- 1350 baht for Superior room

- wireless internet in lobby

- no "non-smoking" rooms

- garden view rooms

- close to soapies, Big C, and 2nd road action)

- easy acces to baht bus (stops directly in front of hotel)

- access to Sabai Lodge pool

- not sure about safe in room

First, I know there is a lot of smoke in bars in Pattaya, but I still prefer a non-smoking room if I can find one.

Also, the email from Sabai Inn included one of those flashing animations enticing me to click it. This was on gmail so it was scanned first, but it leaves me with kind of a lower class feel for the place.

So, does anyone have any arguments pro or con for either hotel. I like the soi 2 area, but I am leaning toward the Sandy Spring. :banghead

Then try a combination of both. The Sandy Spring's group opened a new hotel near the corner of Beach Rd and Soi 1 about 4 months back. Its called either Summer Spring or Spring Summer hotel.

Thanks for the tip.

I looked at their website and the address is 436/3-4 Moo 9 Soi 1 Pattaya Beach Road Nongprue although there is no map at the website.

It would be nice to get some feedback from someone who has stayed there. :banghead

I'm home now or I could stop by and get a price quote for you. It located right across from the Markland hotel a very short distance from Beach Rd. It looked very nice when I walked by the place.

The answer to your question is undoubtedly the Sandy Spring is the better choice. But you should know they will charge you for wireless service which is available in the rooms. You may also have a challenge getting a reservation next month as the place is often full though maybe you've checked that already with them.

I'd love to see a photo review of the Summer Spring from some-one.

Unfortunately i had already booked the Sandy Spring or i would give

it a try, but i am looking forward to being in the Soi 13 area.

glyn,

Thanks for that link. It looks an interesting option for that part of town and the rooms are of a really good size.

I made a reservation with Sandy Spring today, and used a card other the Visa or Master Card. Now I have to send the cc details (in two emails) for the other card.

It would have been nice to know that ahead, but perhaps I should have asked.

Anyone know of any billing caveats related to Sandy Springs.

I guess I was surprised they would not accept cards other than Visa or MC, so I wondered if there are are other details that might cause a problem.

I was curious if anyone has had any billing issues at Sandy Springs.

They seem to require the card numbers to hold the room, although they do not charge it ahead.

The credit card caveat is that if you are a no show they will charge you for one night. To get around security with the CC I sent 3 emails from 2 email accounts (work and home) to lessen the probability of fraud. Warin emailed me back and said that would be fine. I also sent them over 3 days. I also asked them to remove items from the minibar. Leave beer (told em what brand), water, coke, dry ginger and breezers. That a BG can't help herself to a shit load of little bottles on my watch. I will be there next week and every email with Warin has been clear and helpful.

On reflection I wish they had of charged me in July. It would have save me a bloody small fortune with the exchange rate.
