interactive map through the streets of pattayatalk

Recommended Posts

A while back, I found an interactive map that allowed you to walk through the streets of Pattaya and you could look 360 degrees around you as you interacted with the map. The pics that you were looking at had arrows showing which way that you could navigate to see surrounding things.

The map was on someone's web site that obviously spent a lot of time taking all of the pictures and seemed to be great to actually view what was in the area before actually getting there.

Does anyone know the web link to this map?

Thanks.

You could use

http://www.mapjack.com/

The site has many different Thai cities that you can browse.

This looks interesting, but I am having some issues trying to figure out how to use it! There is no scroll bar to go between the picture and the map! There is one for the left side control panel! I am impressed by picture quality.

Very nostalgic for me to take a stroll through San Francisco!

I'll give you a quick run though using Pattaya as the city. 1-click to chose pattaya -wait until this up-dates 2-look for hot spots and select the Beach Street (Rd.) 3-rotate the picture screen until you can see the blue dots 4-click on the blue dots this should advance the pictures.

On the map screen, on the left hand side you will see a magnifier (to zoom in and out of the map) and the directionals (to move the map). Now try and locate an icon of a man on the map screen (you might have to magnify the map-use the + button or click up to level fourth ot fifth from the top-wait for the up-date). Once you have located this icon that is approx. where the picture was taken. You can also click on the map and the man will go directly to that spot and the pictures will up-date to that location if available. If you rotate the picture screen the icon changes direction to let you know what directions you are headed on the map.

I hope this helps. I know it can be confusing on new sites.

Well thanks for the effort but all of this is the same as the http://www.pattayaphotoguide.com/ which I have used a lot. My problem was that http://www.mapjack.com/ doesn't have a scroll bar at the right to scroll down to the map. I was trying to access the controls and a full view of the Google Map.

Ooops, figured it, you can resize the photograph window! I just went across the bay Bridge towards Oakland, sure takes me back!

Just took a look at Rosie's Cafe, a place I had a snack at on Lake Tahoe years ago!

Does it only cover the USA and Thailand?

:behead B)

Wow-that photoguide 360 revolving pics is the next best thing to being there-really fun to explore those places we know so well.

I was interested to see how the new building that was going up in Soi 3 in front of BJ Lodge would look as regards blocking the view/sun as I usually stay there. Now that I've seen how tall and close it is I won't be staying there again as it completely blocks everything out-a pity as I liked the BJ,would still go there for breakfast.
