Black American needs advice on first trip to Pattaya!

Recommended Posts

Thanks to all my Aussie, British, and American comrades for all the great advice. You guys really know your stuff, I think I am going to have a great time in Pattaya. Right now I have not decided on which month I am leaving on, but I will keep every one on the board informed, on when I am planning my trip to be there. I look foward to having a couple of beers with you guys, you make a green horn such as myself feel really welcomed with all the good honest feed back.

I do agree, that as long as you are respectful and have some cash then every thing else should be fine.

Also I really find the Chocolate Man thing kind of amusing and funny.

You guys have really got me excited! I can't wait to see what the land of smiles is reall all about.

What a hoot and a credit to the board that we have two white Europeans to explain to the rest of us the negative thinking of Thai girls towards misled, unthinking American blacks. Thanks guys.

I'm an American. :allright

Makes me glad I'm not gay - sounds painful!

Several trips ago to Pattaya (this was probably back in 2007) I was sitting in a beer bar on Soi 8 when a black guy walked by . . . he was with two white guys . . . suddenly a few of the bar girls next to me yelled out "Chocolate man!" (trying to get his attention to come into the bar). He just waved, smiled and walked on with his buddies. At first I was shocked . . . but then realized this is not un usual and the girls are not being rude. So be prepared to hear that . . . and enjoy the ladies!

I wanted to add Mr. Stallion, that most of the bargirls are from Issan and are often much browner than other asian women. There is a bit of prejudice within their own culture toward lighter skin, I think, but it does not extend to westerners.

I also think that you will find that most of us on this board don't give a damn either. Hook up with those of us that you can, especially on your first few nights. Do a bar crawl too!

Girls have mentioned this to me on a few occasions also.

Whenever this issue is raised, there are always loads of guys including black guys saying that black guy's will have no problem whatsoever and that they will actually be in demand.

Don't believe them!

The sad fact is that Thailand is much more openly racist than the West and status there depends much on skin colour. There is clearly a sizeable proportion of girls who will not go with a black guy no matter how much money he is prepared to pay

Sorry Arno, a disagree with you 100% on this issue

I was approached by 2 guys from Detroit, Michigan at the Nana Plaza in 2004, yes they were black Americans and first time visitors. They raised the same questions as did BS

I stayed with them for 1 hour, they treated the girls with respect and had 6 of them around the table.

They felt comfortable after this 1 hour of baby sitting, as the girls really enjoyed all the attention, the guys gave them.

Most of us would do the same for BS, he is like us, a "monger" and skin color in never a factor, if he needs advice/help.

Many a BM would be glad to show him around Pattaya.

Take a look at this, a documentary in 7 parts on youtube, this is part 6 and if you watch from 07:20 mins onward you will see a sexy girl talk about her preference for black males.

I watched both documentarys from the Thai girls perspective and the Danish guys. Well done video. Worth watching. There are 7 parts on each of their sides. "Thailand to Thy" and "Thy to Thailand. Good stuff.

I would love to subscribe to the view that Pattaya is some kind of sexual utopia where anyone can get whatever the want anytime they want. Sadly this can not true.

Racism is present all over the world so why should Thailand be immune from this evil? Racism is based 100% on ignorance and in Thailand most of the people are ill educated...I would guess that most of the bar girls wouldn't even know that there is now a black president of the US.

It is very much present here in Holland in the P4P scene. Having made numerous trips to the red light district in Amsterdam you begin to notice things that you didn't notice before..and I have noticed from time to time black guys staring in the windows at the girls and the girls either blanking them or immediately waving them away with their hands whereas when other guys walk past these same girls are knocking on the windows and desperately calling to them.

Money is very important to these girls but it is not the be all and end all. Many have realised, especially the really good looking ones, that they can make more than a good living without going with every customer who shows an interest in them. They therefore exercise their right to pick and choose.

So I would say to any black guys who want to go to Pattaya - go there! It will be more than worthwhile. But don't go there with the illusion that every girl that you like will be happy to go with you or that the girls as a rule will favour you over other guys. Unfortunately, quite the reverse, many have only ever been and will only ever go with white guys even if these guys are old, ugly, dirty looking, badly dressed and overweight. Sad but true.
