Erates Deal From London

Recommended Posts

Hi I just booked a flight from Gatwick to BKK on 28th April for 2 months There are also flights from Heathrow at the same price, I chose Gatwick for flight times ,hope this helps some,I do wish I had made up my mind last month when I saw the £399 Quantas BA non stop flights but hindsight is always 20-20.

Just to add the site I used was Opodo

Emirates have £400 prices from Gatwick in Oct/Nov on their own website at the moment, with no CC charges and golf clubs allowed as extra baggage. The dates and times work for me, so I've just booked it. You can even book your seats at the same time, which I REALLY like. :thumbup

I was going to hold on, but I don't see this being beaten by much.

OK, now 198 days to go. How WILL I stand it? :D

Oh yeah, I nearly forgot, I fly out this Friday as well. :banghead

Not old enough to get a retirement extension Mick?

I see Non-Imm O is available from neighbouring countries now (Laos and Penang), have to be asking if multiple is available....... I hope to get 15 months out of my current one, but that would take me to Dec/Jan, no way I want to fly to UK in winter, so may look to get a Non-Imm O from one of the above.

jacko,

Will you let me know what the situation is regarding non-imm "O" (or "B") at either Vientiane or Penang.

I have a spare flight with Air Asia back to UK but unless there was some other compelling reason to visit, I'd prefer to give it a miss.

My current visa isn't due to expire until Nov so not a huge issue at the moment.

Regards,

Tom

Thanks Tom would appreciate the feedback. Saw the Non-Imm O offered by a few visa outfits here in Pattaya. A change of rule as always were 'only from home country' in the past. I am wondering if they are just offered as a route to the retirement extension, for those who came in with a waiver or tourist visa?

I always fly Emirates and they are a cut above the rest IMHO. Nice aircraft, great food, friendly staff and good inflight entertainment.

Tom,

The non imm visas offered by the agencies are the ones where you go get your WP etc. or on the back of marriage. They have never been, to my knowledge, the normal run of the mill ones from Hull.

jack,

Emirates 777's on the BKK and LHR routes are set out in a 3-4-3 configuration as opposed to 3-3-3 offered by the likes of Qatar and Etihad. If you are a big guy, it's an issue.

That makes it like a fucking sardine can! It's beyond my comprehension how travelers can sing the praises of airlines like Emirates which pack 10 across seating into planes designed to be 9 across.

I've never flown Emirates but I've checked the seating plans for their aircraft on the website (always a wise thing to do before you book) and I've seen the 10 across in economy on a 777. I would never fly them.

I learned this the hard way when I once got stuck in Finnair on a transatlantic flight on an MD11 with sun charter layout at 10 across in economy. Never again!
