Today, I took a drive around town while my gf took pictures of the Songkran celebrations. We drove north on Second Road, then down Pattaya Klang to Beach Road. Traffic was extremely heavy, and as you can see, the windows of the car eventually were covered by the talc/water mixture that is so popular.

Sorry for the movement blur of the first photos (about half). It's because the photographer was hearing the "in focus" beep and thought the picture was taken, thus moving the camera as it was actually taking the picture. I think we worked it out by the end of the trip.

The general impression was that this is a very quiet Songkran in Pattaya...only a few places have the riotous water throwing that used to extend all over town. Places that last year or the year before had 40-50 people together, had a dozen or so.

Thanks for the picture MM, there bring back some wet memories, i didn venture down to beach road or walking street on the day of the songkran (maybe cos ed had me out until 8am that morning and i woke up late) but wen i did got up and go out, i went to the bottom of my soi (soi 16 central rd) and had a good time, there were lots of people there and also lots of cars drivig down the narrow road on the soi, and of course alot of girls in wet t-shirts.

The week before i was in Phuket, and wen there songkran was on, i didnt enjoy as much, maybe because it was mostly farang with the water guns and there wernt much of a festival atmosphere there, unlike in Pattaya. :clueless
