Weather in October

I've only been in January/Feb, which is great because its dry and not too hot, but can come on 19 October this year, for 3 weeks.

I've read that it is likely to be 'rainy' season still -can anyone put me right as to what its like? Is it a bit like rainy days in UK but of course more heat/humidity? Does it rain so much it puts you off going out? Or is the rain welcome, cooling everything down a bit.

Any advice welcome.

I was there early Oct last year and virtually everyday come mid-afternoon there was a hell of a thunderstorm. It lasted maybe a hour or so then usually cleared. It also rained most nights. Look here.

In an average October, it's hot.

 

Also, for around half an hour almost every day, there's rain. About once a week it's for more than half an hour. Sometimes there are flooded streets in Pattaya. If you have iron body parts, they could rust. If you're a chocolate soldier, you may melt. Otherwise, plan to use the rainy-time productively, at a bar or with an afternoon companion in a bed somewhere or other - if you last more than 30 minutes of course.
