I have been doing some preliminary investigation into some rental houses for next May. I found a place through ThaiVisa and e-mailed them for some rates. They shot me an e-mail back with a rate for a 3bdrm. house @ about 3,600.00 USD for a month rental. Granted this was a pretty decent house with a private pool but they have to have been smoking something to think those rates are justified. I also got a rate on a 2bdrm. out in Jomtiem that was a very basic place and they wanted 2,400.00 USD for a month.

 

So somebody tell me have they completely lost their minds or are those the rates for a short term rental house???

thats outrageous dude. i don't know prices there, but i'd imagine something around 500-1000 usd to be more realistic for a decent very nice 2-3bd house, even if only for a month or 2 rental.

Sounds to me like they're trying to find a sucker who doesn't know any better. I've seen the same thing in Phuket, except there, they get even more ridiculous. I've seen ads where they ask $600 a day or more for a place with two or three bedrooms. I guess they're hoping to find someone going on vacation and for whom money is no object.

There are people with money who will overpay just to be sure they get someplace nice. They think that because it cost more it must be better.

LOL thats insane, especially in todays economy.

 

I do agree though with Sailfast about people overpaying to insure they get a nice place. Problem is your paying that price from a website. I don't care how good the pics are its still sight unseen until you get there and physically look at it.

Can somebody help me. I have been searching and all I keep coming up with is house rentals for 6 months or longer. Is their anyplace that rents houses for 1 or 2 months??

It sounds a lot but remember that short term rentals are "premium" price and also depends on the time of year. Even so, these would have to be something special for that kind of money.

 

There is a development on Pratumnak Hill that is more reasonable. I'll get the number and PM you.
