Cost of electricity in Pattaya

Does anyone know the cost of electricity in Pattaya per unit of measure? Also, what unit of measure do they use?

It is kwh (killo-watt-hour) units. The amount charged per unit varies according to the consumption..see link. I'll get my bill and get back to you!

My consumption puts me at 1.8 baht for first 150kwh...

Plus 2.78 baht/kwh 151-400 kwh.

How about this....?

Then they add on this.....

 

My bill was 525kwh...that cost.......1378 baht.

The FT charge 0.9255 per kwh.....+485.9 baht

Tax at 7%.....................................+130.5 baht

Grand total....................................1994 baht!

 

And that is her electric vibrator in the trash!

It's been free for me the past 3 months. Apparently, my meter broke and they haven't gotten around to fixing it. I was told they might hit me with a bill for 3 months at my "average" rate next month. Ouch.

It's been free for me for several months already

 

There is a government "promotion" that make your bill :

- free if less than 80 units in the month ;

- half price if less han 150 units ;

 

Normal price of 1 unit for me is a little less than 3 baht.

One more point Stinky :

These are prices when you deal directly with the electricity company,

but in many places you have to pay through the owner or the condo management

and it frequent to find prices like 5 or 7 baht/unit.

I even heard of silly prices such as 10 baht/unit !

You don't pull kwh, you consume kw and multiply it by the time it was consumed. Just taking the 36W (and not all the consumption around the bulb), run it for 1 hour, that is 36(the power)x1(time in hours)/1000(convert watts to kilo-watts)....0.036kwh. Another way would be to accurately measure the power by simply measuring current, multiply by the voltage..IxV=Watts. Sadly it can be more complicated than that but I hope you get the gist!

i have a room in third road for my girl to stay and my bill is 7 baht per unit for electric and 3 baht for water per unit per month which comes to around a couple of thousand baht for one month with the air con on or without the air con it is around eleven hundred baht per month for both then have the rent which is just over three and half thousand baht per month, but as others have said it can be more or less from 3 to 10 baht per unit depending where you rent unless your in a hotel which is free, hope this helps
