Carlton Hotel, Soi 5/2nd Road

Have any BMs got any recent experience of this hotel? From their website it looks like a good, cheap hotel but some of the comments on here regard it as dirty. Are these comments still valid or are they now a little dated and the cleanliness has improved?

hi dude i stayed there last may ...booked in for one night stayed for 10 it was quiet..my room was always cleaned,,staff spot on ..safe in your room thats a big plus for me,,ok its not the best.. but cheap... does the job.. all i want a room for is sleeping.. shagging some where safe to keep my gear,,,stayed all over patts and bkk dont see the point in forking out 1500 plus for a room been there done that more cash in my pocket to partyyyyyyyyy

stayed there august this year in standard room never again although got what i payed for 500 bht no joiner fee but girls would not come back ther next nite they say room not clean if its not better than what they live in its not saying much about the hotel pool very green in colour no maitenance ,and no sign saying pool not in use thaikon
