Possible loss of American Airlines flights to Narita

Recommended Posts

Iv'e been reading that Japan Airlines would like to dump American Airlines and partner with Delta Airlines. Can't blame JA for this, American keeps cutting its flights and now Delta is the largest carrier.

If JA succeeds at this, AA is threatning to close all its flights to Narita. Without the JA commitment, total ticket cost for AA customers to Asia would increase putting AA at a price disadvantage.

AA's response may have sealed the deal between JA and Delta unfortunately.

The worst part is that the seats on Delta really suck. Last time I flew one my ass was hurting before the plane had even taken off.

JAL is still considering both carriers.Whichever is best for them is who they will choose.AA will not drop their Narita service if JAL chooses Delta-it's too profitable for them.

The seats on Delta do not suck-it's a 777 for chrissakes.Maybe you flew on a recently painted former NW 747.

Possibly your ass was sore prior to boarding................. :P

Again. Why is anybody using a US carrier to go to Asia?

Price, frequent flier miles, Red Capet Club usage when flying international. Good connections out of Philadelphia with United. I'm a Premier Executive level FF. I board right after first/business class customers. I never have problems storing my bags in the overhead compartments. If economy is full I get free upgrade to business on international flights. On domestic flights I almost always get upgraded to first class using miles. That's why I fly United. :D

Delta put hard thin leather seats in its 777. American put thick supportive cloth seats on its 777s. Iv'e ridden both.

I have ridden both too.

Now business class is totally different, though.Though I'm sure American's seats are cloth and comfy too.LOL!

Cloth seats-this is the 21st century.
