Mr T taxi service

Recommended Posts

Yesterday I fired of an email to Mr T to pick me up at the airport next week. Today I got my confirmation which also included the website: www.pttaxiservice.com and informing me that I could also book through it. I checked it out and the name is Pattaya Taxi Service. The prices remained the same, 1000 baht for pickup and 900 baht for drop off for Pattaya. I don't know if they changed their name or they were bought out or mergered.

Interesting.

I have used pttaxi through their web page last February. Never saw a reference to Mr. T - may be it was the same person all the time or perhaps as you suggest they have merged or something happened to Mr. T and they have taken over his 'book'.

I dont know if this is a take over or just a name change but my Mr. T driver on Monday told me that Mr T. has had an accident and is currently paralysed and thus unable to work.

Seemingly been like this for the last couple of weeks. Still the same cars and drivers as before though so who knows.

I sent an email to Mr. T from Narita asking for a taxi about 8 hours later. I didn't get a reply and nobody showed up. I don't know if that was because of the short notice or some other problem, but for the first time, I had to hit the taxi line.

It wasn't bad. I got a tricked out minivan with a great sound system and a cool driver. 1500b

Martin,

About a year ago when I arrived in Narita from SFO I discovered that the United flight into BKK was going to be delayed 4 hours. The United flight from LAX was delayed leaving and that was the aircraft that they were using for the flight into BKK. I sent Mr T an email telling him to pick me up 4 hours later. Fortunately someone was in the office and replied. I don't think that Mr T has someone who does the emails around the clock in the office because sometimes I'll get a reply back in an hour and other times almost a day later.

My last reply was the same form letter reply as always and same phone number to call if a problem. Only this time it had the Pattaya Taxi Service website included.

That's a good point. I checked the local Thai time when I sent the email, and it was early afternoon here in Thailand, but now realize he probably doesn't sit in front of a computer all day.

I have no reply from him either after 24 hours so have just sent off the online reservation form to PPT.

Lets see if they reply.

Arriving on Saturday so getting a bit edgy about pickup.

I always use the email address and not the online reservation form. That way I have a copy of what I send.

Last month, when Mr. T didn't arrive to pick me up after I sent an email for pickup, I just took a regular taxi. It was 1500b compared to the 1000b I'd pay Mr. T's driver...and I didn't have to wander through the parking garage getting to Mr. T's driver's car.

I might just use that method from now on.

It seems that so many taxi firms come and go and yet none, not even the Thai ones show to be reliable. At the end of the day whats in a couple of hundred baht to save on a cab fare?? If youre coming here on holiday are you really worried to need to save a few hundred baht for a cab ride. To be able to just walk out , get in a cab and be on your way is a big weight off my mind when i get there, so to pay the 1500 baht, really its nothing and your on your way. Theres no waiting around with silly text and phone calls, nor is there a 24 year old volvo waiting for you either. Kinda makes sense to me

That's what I have been doing recently as well. Less hassle, don't have to walk all over hell to get to the car. I usually get a newer Isuzu MU7 to take me to Chonburi for 1,500 baht. I just put it on my credit card, and write it off on my travel expenses. The only bad thing about this option is, you got to pay the fucking rort prices for beer at the airport. 2guns

Which service? 1500b to Chonburi or the style of taxi (Izuzu MU7)?

It's 1500b to Pattaya so Chonburi at 1500b is a ... good deal for the driver.
