Hi Lads all of you who are technically minded out there, I am going to buy a new dvd cd writer. I have been recommended a Samsung by the staff at Aria anyway I want a dual layer for burning those longer games and films so I am aware of what I need for that end. As there is not much difference in the price of lightscribe and non ls the idea of LS seems good, what I was wondering is do lightscribe discs come as dual layer ? I am told the principle of LS is that when you are finnished burning on a LS disk you turn it over to put the title or whatever on it.

I've never looked for LS dual layer discs. As for LS in general........I've found it to be a bit of a waste of time really, something I'd only use on rare occasions. The quality of the lasered images is ok but it can take quite a bit longer than burning the disc in the first place.

ive got one they look good but the disks are hard to come by . the white printable disks are the ones i use they look just like the originals when you download the disk front , cdcovers.cc has them all and the software to print them undercoverxp :D

I bought a permanent marker for 18 baht that does labels on my CDs and DVDs just fine. I'm not selling them, just burning them for me, mine and an occasional friend. Lightscribe is actually quite expensive - the disks cost extra, you use a lot more time and the printers are like ink jets, great for the ink makers.

If you NEED nice looking labels, fine. Otherwise, why bother?

Yes I know what you mean, but like villa said its for my own use and I like the neatness and he gave me a couple of good sites so . I was basically looking information from experience on the different types which I received. There is not a lot of difference price wise in the LS and Non LS to start with, thats what started me thinking. Also I needed a dual layer so just wanted to get the most suitable. I ened up buying a non LS mainly due to a bm report of it taking longer to burn the label than the disc. Not to worry as long as it burns the dual layer I can get some games on there. Thats whats good about the forum you get fairly good advice eventually. So once again to all thanks.
