Emirates have confirmed today A380 will start services ex Manchester on 1st September

 

Any idea which flight number it will be? If it connects with the BKK-DXB A380, that's good news.

"But the carrier has now confirmed that it will roster the A380 onto one of its two daily flights between Dubai and Manchester from September 1, replacing its Boeing 777 aircraft. The flights in question are EK018 departing Manchester at 1410 (arriving 0015 the next day), returning from Dubai as EK017 at 0755, landing in Manchester at 1225."

Rumour also Emirates 3 x daily from Manchester :-

 

A330 depart 0900

A380 depart 1410

B777-300 depart 2100

EK373 departs for BKK at 09.40 so a long stop-over for two A380 flights. Would probably be a similar stop-over if taking the A380 to Dubai on the return leg. Still, two A380 flights is not bad.

At the moment. I'm sure EK373/374 is slotted in to go A380 in the autumn.

That is interesting, might be tempted to do an Emirates just to get to see this aircraft from the inside.

Been on Emirates A380'S about four times now, never managed to get upstairs to business class yet. If you have to slum it in cattle class then 68A,68K or 81A,81K are the best seats to go for IMHO, unlimited legroom great seat.

 

Unless of course I'm on the same flight!!

Well thanks for the tips but I do fly Biz and actually pay for it normally.

(Although recent prices make me wonder whether economy and drugs is the way to go).

At the moment I am content to enjoy flights in comfort and not pay any 5k bartabs.

A380 arrive Manchester 1135 on 13th August ex Toulouse

Departs for Hamburg at 1335 - 13th August

 

Looks like A380 test prior to Emirates flights in September.

Can well understand Emirates introducing the A380 into Manchester when March passenger figures show total passengers were 51,152pax (ie) average 412 per flight.

 

Looks like third daily flight will start early 2011.
