Ah, The Stanley Cup Play-Offs

Enough pedantry, you're right the English one is crap. But overall its a crummy "anthem", not inspiring at all.

Sure beats "Gosh Save the Kink"! I almost added "by a mile" but it's way, way more than a mile.

Now they have some extra rest after 14 games in 28 days and two very tough series. Gill's gash can heal more and maybe Markov can even play. Boston is no worry, they are like me in high school - can't score. And I think Habs are better than Philly too.

Well... they don't have to play Game 7. But they were always going to play Game 1 on Tuesday of next week. The other Game 1 is Sunday night/Monday at 2am.

The Reading Royals were up 3-0 on Cincinnati in the ECHL. The Royals are a Boston farm team (and Leafs). The Royals are playing golf today while Cincinnati plays Idaho for the Kelly Cup. Message in there for big-Daddy Bruins? Hmmm. (Cyclones are tied to the Canadiens and Nashville.)

I said from Game 1 that Boston-Philly was the most entertaining quarter-final, and it sure was. Game 7, Philly has the edge for a lot of reasons.

Gee ZEUS! The SEVENTH really watchable, entertaining game in a row from these guys. Boston goes up 3-0 and now it's 3-3 middle of the second period. Talk about your end-to-end hockey. Philly has had the edge from the start but Boston really is playing hard.

Yeah... but Philly wins... and now goes up against the Habs... time for Philadelphia to get out their golf clubs and find themselves somewhere to play as the Habs will take the cup this year...

I'm hoping you're wrong about the team and the conference, but I'd never argue hockey with a Canadian. :grin-jump

Those two teams will destroy each other over the next two weeks. The Sharks will then take the winner in 5. Money. 1luv

Normally at this point I'd just haul out my Sharks jersey, but how can you not root for the Canadians (unless you're a Flyers fan)? They look destined to shock everybody, plus Halek is playing out of his mind.

Then again, look at what the Flyers accomplished. An amazing game 7 vs the Bruins. Should be a great series.

Make it Canadi*E*ns, Vic. Lots of them aren't Canadians anyhow.

plus Halek is playing out of his mind.

Not bad for a backup who wanted out of Montreal. Definitely the best of the playoffs, not just saves My guess is he'll be making quite a bit of money next year, even though the Brits will rule that he doesn't deserve it.

Props to the Flyers for showing true grit. As a Habs man I fear them more than da Broons though I still think Habs will prevail.

They're even on the season. Montreal actually beat Boston on the season.

Two interesting facts from the Montreal Journal. One is, seems they are taking this seriously, this hockey thingmy bumping the sexy saga of three dead girls to the sidebar with NINE count them 9 pages on the series inside. The second thing is that it's $1.1. in Canadian money in Moray Awl and $2.36 in Florida in American coin.

Vic, in English it says: "The Habs will have to protect Halak" and "(they will) play hard" or more colloquially, "it's going to be a tough game"

Well, Sharks fall 1-2 to the 'Hawks. Not having watched much hockey this season I'm impressed with Chicago's speed. Sharks will need to control the boards, backcheck better and use their size if they wanna win this series.

Same thing later. Speed - Philly's got the wind blowing their hair, Montreal doesn't. They'll blame Halak but Moray Awls were literally falling down trying to get back on every Philly attack, the whole time.

I folded when it was 4-0. I'm hoping they got the bad game out of their system but fear the pumpkin may be on the way.

I like Hawks over the Shakes any day. Heatley is a one-way moron and I'm not convinced the Shakes won't swoon.

3-0 in the third period, Game 2. This series may not be a sweep, because Moray Awl still has some flashes, but Philly is by far the superior team and you'd be crazy to bet against them going to the final, no matter the odds.

Now. Let's see if the Sharks left it all at the Joe in Game 4. I think they did. They'll prove me right or wrong in a few hours.

I am almost embarassed by how Montreal has been playing... but I know they will pick themselves up and take ... perhaps Chicago.... nah... San Jose for the cup....

Brilliant analysis, Joe. You sure were right.

Thanks. But you never know, the Sharks could rebound and win three games in Chicago.

Of course they COULD play next year's final on an outdoor rink in Bangkok, too, almost as likely.

Giving and accepting compliments from yourself is droll.

But I think it would be more entertaining if you could argue with yourself. I'd be interested in who would win!

A sad Habs fan here.

Flyers have outplayed them at every aspect of the game. Who's got the hot goalie now?

Hate to say it but they are dusting off the pumpkin coach now. My only consolation is I like the Hawks in the west. Sharks are tanking, as per usual.

As they say, "styles make fights" and Hawks-Flyers should be good - speed/finesse vs. talent/muscle.

Thanks, Habs! It was a great run.

Les Habs gave it a very good shot this morning, looked quite good. But they certainly were not dominant or clearly better. Good game, but I still wouldn't put more than a coin against the Flyers.

Damn! The fat lady isn't ready to come on stage yet. Habs played a great game, should be good on Saturday, I'll be there (in my armchair) microbrew in hand!

Sharks are chumps. Dany Heatley? Start earning your money, dipstick! Go Hawks!

Well, San Jose never did recover from that Game 4 in Detroit. They were pathetic.

Chicago definitely, against Philly 99.8 per cent. Who would have picked that?
