Skytrax - Best Airline Awards 2010

Recommended Posts

It's offering it now.

Yep... after a bit of playing with the CX site, I can get that flight. I just had to select individual flights, but that took it out of the current deals. Went from $970 to $1174, still not a bad price for CX.

So now do I take CX at $1174 or go Korean at $877 with an 8 hour layover in Seoul?

Forgot. If you are flying Cathay Pacific out of/into LAX-HK, they have an agreement with American Airlines that packs the plane. Really over crowded with their new uncomfortable shell seats, but they can pack more people in.

I can't believe Cathay Pacific got an award. Flew them last year LAX-HK-BKK and they were the pits.(both ways.) Bad service, terrible new "shell seats", dirty airplane, over crowded/packed. So much noise in the cabin, I couldn't hear anything in the headphones. For 7 hours they flew through thunder storms instead of around them. My dad was a Capt. for Pan Am back in the day, so I grew up around the airlines. Cathay Pacific used to be good, but it is now a bottom line cattle car airlines. I'll never fly them again!

One of the things one should also consider is their frequent flyer program if one flys often and which other airlines do they partner with. I like United because I've gotten about 16 free flight over the past 6 years. I get free use of any Star Alliance lounge and also when you use your miles you can fly not only on United but also their partners. I've flow with Singapore, Thai, ANA and air Canada and just last month I booked a flight for a friend and one leg of the trip he's flying Thai Air nonstop from LAX to BKK.
