aeroflot and eygpt air reviews

Recommended Posts

My first opinion would be negative simply because of where I need to transit.

My wife has used Egypt Air a couple of times and was more then pleased with the service. BTW she flew business class with them. My wife has flown with Aeroflot once and thought they were OK.

i flew aeroflot and once up in the air it was fine. but from booking to taking off was a nightmare. london office changing dates randomly. and trying to charge for the pleasure! i had a barney with them in their office before they relented. gate numbers being randomly changed 1 minute before take off. nazi like stewardesses coming out with bizarre rules. flock wallpaper on the plane walls. a watering can full of hot water used to de-ice the wings. and a size 14 welly to kick the ice of with. brown water coming out of toilet taps in moscow airport. shit filled to the toilet brim in Moscow toilets on out flight. loads of flies flew out when i opened toilet door. shit surface crusted over . in EVERY toilet. Same shit filled toilets on return flight but this time fresh shit dumped on top of the crust. no bog paper. someone brushing there teeth in the brown water; plane isles full of watermelons; NEVER AGAIN.

on the + side (!); LOTS of leg room; was surrounded by group of ukrainians on there way to pattaya who INSISTED I consumed the vodka and bread that was being passed round. ALMOST joined mile high club with the one next to me; and one of the best landings ever.

Aeroflot not too bad to be honest-international safety record is very good. Leg room on the 777 was shocking.

Egypt air I flew on a one way ticket home in 93 when I had deliberately missed the flight on Emirates.

Do remember it was a completely knackered 747 which took an age to get back to Cairo.

Friend of mines wife flew last year on them and she seemed to think they were fine

Here is a current Airsafe list and the site link which sets the lists out in nice easy to read boxes, Interesting reading

Aeroflot is an airline that I never would risk let alone the service angle. High incident rate.

If you enjoy a glass of wine or cold beer with dinner or nightcap, you’ll probably want to pass on Egypt Air. Unless they’ve recently changed policy, they are a “dry” airline with no alcoholic beverages served.

Flights with Egypt air Amsterdam to Bangkok via Cairo are available for under 500euro travel in January,

now that's a very very good deal the next best with China is 800 euro.

Its 15 hours outward but over 19 return, I would take it at that price but I have not found any recent reviews

about punctuality maybe its not a problem,I don't need a drink to fly in fact I don't like to drink and fly so no

problem with dry flights.

Its that punctuality thats a worry 19 hours and some delays may not be worth the 300 savings.

Also the Euro is slipping down so maybe no trip next year.

Im looking for flights mid July from Amsterdam and Egypt air is by far the cheapest. Still not sure if I should book with them or just stick to Eva and fly direct paying 150 euro premium. Read very poor reviews about Egypt air and from what Ive been told alcohol is still not served on their flights.

How can punctuality be a consideration for you when you are contemplating a massive layover to extend your journey to 19 hours ?

No brainer, direct flight. Fucking around in the sandpit for hours each way to save EUR 75 each way, works out at about 10/15 EUR an hour, minus what you spend when stuck in the pit.

Cairo has a new terminal so its not gonna be a sandpit, I always fly direct and a few hours on the way back is an option as long as it is a few hours

I may be able to deal with it,300 euro saving is not to be sneezed at.

One other thing is that bangkok is a stopover on the way to Snooky and the Egypt air flight arrives at 12:00, time to go through Immigration and get

the Airasia flight to Phnom Penh without the 7 hour wait if I fly direct with China.

The EVA or KLM flights that are the only other direct flights from Amsterdam arrive to late to make the Airasia connection

Whatever option I choose China or Egypt its a long waitover somewhere.

If going to Snooky, can you not route through Malaysia or Singapore or elsewhere. Bangkok cannot surely be the only option.

Many of my mates fly with the EGYPT... no complains, nothing special... Two aspects were reported worth to consider...

1. If you are a smoker good to having a fag on the half way ( From the EU )

2. If your connections are not tight they will take you for a free trip to see the pyramids... ( a bonus IMO ) No visa hassles, they collect your passports and you can make the trip without visas... If your connection on the next day the hotel and the dinner is free...

About the Aeroflot I heard really different views from my mates... it seems the majority don't liked the airport in Moscow...

KL with Malaysia is nearer to 900 Euro, KLM is almost a 1000,

via singapore is a 15 hour trip to Amsterdam.

Also the flight arrives in KL at 07:15 the flight to PP leaves 15:30.

so whatever I do I have a long wait somewhere on the way.

Though china/klm/eva all are a direct flight home

Still 300 is a good saving I just have that wait on the way back
