If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Delta Airlines one year ago, you would have $49.00 today.

If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in AIG one year ago, you would have $33.00 today.

If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Lehman Brothers one year ago, you would have $0.00 today.

Never mind, if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the aluminum cans for recycling refund, you would have received $214.0.

Based on the above, the best current investment plan is to drink heavily & recycle.

A recent study found that the average Brit walks about 1400 miles a year.

Another study found that Brits drink, on average, 26 gallons of alcohol a year.

That means that, on average, Brits get about 54 miles to the gallon!

This is a well researched article & your logic is undeniable,

The problem I would have is how to find my way home each year after traveling 1400 miles !

More research required I fear ! :banghead

Its not funny as its no where near the truth. If you cashed in those cans you'd be lucky to get $20.00.

Yep. Recycling deposits are not 21.4% in any country I know of.

Wrong as wrong can be. On Aug. 12, 2009, shares in Delta Airlines (DAL) closed at $7.20. Spending $1,000 would have given you (round up) 139 shares. On Aug. 11, 2010, DAL shares closed at $11.36, so 139 shares would be worth $1,579.04. That's a very excellent return (assuming you sell the shares today to lock in the profit).
