Hi all,

We just booked our tickets for October from Travelpack for £380pp - saving upto £200pp- from LON

I suggest some of you people take up this offer and get over there while Etihad have their SALE on, not sure when it ends.

Etihad are a good airline, or were last time i flew with them few years back.

I don't think you can go far wrong with the middle east/UAE Airlines for Food, IFE, service etc.

Roll on Oct.

Thanks farman for the new lead in airline search. I have the same problem every year or twice three times a year just the same as everyone else on this site ! knowing when to book! This time I reluctantly took the advice of Eithad direct and booked when they told me to in June for nov travel. I thought as I usually do, they get my money for a few months etc etc same old same same. Well I did book at £495 and on a 0 percent credit card which has to and will be paid off before I go in Nov. That same flight is now £720 so I reckon I done right. I can get cheaper flights at the moment but number 1 I prefer travelling with Eithad (I have done most with a few exceptions) 2 long stop overs , etc. I like everyone on here want to get there as cheaply as possible I watch the web and the only advice I can really offer is when you see it around the 4-5 mark book it.

Any B/M's flown with Etihad lately(this year) LON/BKK-Economy

I've flown with them before a few years back, i'm sure they are still just as good.

I have looked at Skytrax.com but wanted some B/M views.

Haven't flown with them this year but before Emirates started operating the A380 on the LHR & BKK routes they were my first choice. Would use them again without question if the price was right as the stopovers were pretty good.

Always try and fly with Eithad. I go from Manchester and have flown in May past with them they are totally consistantly good never any problems! Thoroughly recommend them! I have also flown on the 380 with Emirates that too was excellent a beautiful comfy aircraft but not worth the seemingly high prices they are looking on it.

£ 388 Lastminute = 9 hour outbound transit at Abu D, from memory they have a cut off of transits over 8 or 6? hours where they bus you to a good hotel, complimentary food, swimming etc

Our stop over is 8/9hrs in Abu D, do we qualify for this or is it only if booked through Lastminute.com?

Anyway... i thought it was Royal Jordainian that put you up in a Hotel on long stop overs but they ended that recently.

I may be wrong!

Can any BM clear this up please?

Regarding the 9 hour transit; I just phoned their London office and they say that now they only lay on the transit and hotel to 1st and Business class passengers. A pity because about three years ago it was a pleasant interlude on several trips, if you weren't in a hurry. Might be worth a call or email to them just to register your thoughts.

Seems they have new Terminal 3 open now in Abu D, lounge facilities available to all, can be booked in advance, cost £19, also flightside hotel rooms (40 rooms)available.
