Simore Dual Sim Card Adapters - Any Reports?

Recommended Posts

These guys have an adapter that allows you to use 2 SIM cards in your phone/tablet - such as one from farangland and one from LOS.

It seems like an interesting solution:

Here is a youtube demo:

Anyone have any experience with them, or other dual SIM adapters, you can share?

My TGF has a phone with 2 SIMs, they are quite common here. In fact I met an old friend who thought there was an opportunity taking them to the UK, as they are rare there. Everyone gets a free phone locked to their network I suppose.

The point, I think, from scanning the web site, is that this company claims to have a sim adapter that can take 2 sims....and can be used in your existing phone. That's way different than buying some (usually) crap phone that takes multiple SIMs.

I'm not sure I believe it's possible or trouble free, but if anyone has tried it, I'd be interested in hearing about it.

Dual SIM adapters are nothing new

Unfortunately the phone they are put to is only geared for a solo SIM so there is always a degree of buggering about switching from one SIM to the other and of course both cannot be roaming simultaneously.

  • 2 months later...

There are a lot of inexpensive new phones that will accept two SIM cards. Nokia has a number of models. They will likely be more dependable than having to butcher your SIM cards to fit an adapter.

What you need in a phone and what I do likely differ extremely MM. I will likely get a 2 SIM phone to take advantage of the better international prices of True Move without changing my current number. The dual SIM phones I have seen are known brands and I did not believe them to be copies. Plus the one the TGF has seems to have lasted better than the good Sony Eric I bought her. (duly trashed)

My idea of a truly crap phone would be the type covered by extreme propriety protection, or have 100 buttons the size of 'dtaa mot'

Not really an answer to the question however like the man said, two unlocked phones are easy peasy. I discourage anyone from ringing me in LOS and tell them that it might be at least 24 hours before I can respond. I could just as easliy be in Cambodea or Laos and outside coverage.

I simply put my home sim in a crap phone, lock it in the safe and check it once a day-if I can remember.
