This sounds on the expensive side. Based on my recollection, the van and driver costs about 1000 baht. The vans carry 10 passengers.

It was at the Irish Rovers about three years ago (damn time flies). May have been under different management. Advertisement was by word of mouth.

Short. I have been a on a few trip this year and the 300 baht has been justified because they have gone every time with as few as 6 people. I have never got a free beer on any trip.

As said 6 people is hardly a full load, yet the cost is the same.

Plus, what the hell is wrong with the organizers making a dime?

What id only 3 members sign up should they deny boarding of the van until the balance is paid?

For heavens sake it is US$10 for the trip with knowledgeable guide(s).

If the bar is covering the cost regardless of the number of riders, then that is a different story.

In my case, as best as I can remember, the trip was off if the bus couldn't be filled.

300 baht lol fecking gold dust for the trip and experiences that I've had

 

Highly recommend and wish I could be on every one.

To be honest, I don't think I did. But, I had no interest in having to stop three times to whiz on the way there.

 

Just to be clear, I want the bar owner to not only make a normal profit, but also to make a little bit of economic profit. Otherwise, that bar won't be there when I want it to be.

So you don't begrudge the guys making maybe 100 baht more than your sketchy recollection thinks they used to?

Shambles, you have said it all and I totally agree but please dont forget that the FLB/Cherry Bar run a trip monthly as well and there is nothing quite as good as going there two days running.

I know that not to be true.

Perhaps true if only one or three joining.

What, BTW, is wrong with something making a profit from creating a business.

 

If you disagree, go set up your own charity bar crawl.

 

If you do not like the 300 baht price don't sign up.

If it looks like a good value go for it.

Very True mate, I never miss a cherry Bar FLB crawl if I can help it, I believe we went on a Ban Chang, Darkside crawl and gogo crawl together in august/september

I can't believe someone on holiday will moan at £6 to be taken to heaven.

 

I have been telling Adam he needs to up his crawl to 300 but he's rather lose than have cheap charlies moaning about a £2 rise over 5 years.
