Renting condo 3 months--how far in advance

Recommended Posts

The next trip is probably a year away. :cry2 On the other hand, unless I lose my mind or the market tanks completely, it will be after retirement and, thus, longer. Right now thinking 3 months. :clap2 That will obviously be high season. I'm thinking of a condo in the rather broad range of 20,000-30,000 baht. Looking around the board, I've found a number of sites to check out possibilities. My question is how far in advance should I get serious about making reservations?

When you have the dates and you are sure, i would suggest about two months out will be fine

The longer you wait, the tougher it will be to find a condo available for that full block of time uniterrupted.

But it depends on your priorities - if you'll be traveling relatively light and won't consider it a major hassle to switch condos once or twice during your trip you might actually do better to try different condos for a month or so each to enjoy the variety.

My most recent trip Dancewatchers was able provide a condo in my favorite building, View Talay 6, for a full 3 months. But since they're usually pretty heavily booked I reserved over 4 months in advance. Since you're planning on high season, probably better to reserve sooner rather than later.

I can also recommend Dancewatchers. They are quick to answer questions and require a fair deposit. They are also somewhat flexible on price so be sure to ask.

2 months out can be okay in low season, but even more in advance for high season would be better. Anyway, yes as soon as one has their plane booked, then could begin the search.
