Very hard to get Flight. What about Hotels?

Recommended Posts

The withdrawal symptoms are too strong and after a month away I’m coming back to Pattaya on the 24th. March, and had one hell of a job getting a flight from the UK.

In the end I managed to get Sri Lanka, via Colombo for a few hours, and at an extortionate price. Over £600.

Is it very busy in Pattaya? Normally I find a hotel when I get here, but this hard to find flight business has got me worried. Hate pre-booking, and normally like to stay at a few. Any advice lads?

Of course, as always I will be down at the FLB as soon as I get settled.

Try www.worldplus.co.uk

or tel 0870 444 9848

It's an English geezer married to a Thai who started up his own travel agency in Croydon.I'm sure he'll be able to get you a flight cheaper than £600.

Finn air seems to be one of the cheapies at the moment.

Druid,

Thanks for the contact link and number, I’ll keep it for future use.

Unfortunately, after hours and hours of trying for any fight to BKK, and using quite a few agents, the answer seemed to be the same. No flights available for within about 8 days of when I needed to go apart from first or business class. Was quoted over 2 grand from the Flight Center for a BA/Quantas direct flight. They advertise from £359 to BBK, but said nothing available for weeks.

Almost about to give up when one of the agents phoned back with the Air Lanka for £520 on 18th. (Today) Told her to book it, but 5 minutes later she came back to me and said all the seats had since gone when she tried to confirm it. Could only get the £605 option on the 24th. with the same airline. Spose I don’t really mind paying this, rather than not come at all, but not keen on the stop over in Colombo.

If it is so hard to get a flight, why is Pattaya so quite, as I’ve read in other posts?

Cheers,

Mike

Pattaya is quiet.  The weekenders from BKK have come and gone.  Tonight was quiet in town.  It may be difficult getting plane tickets because folks may be connecting onwards or they may be staying in BKK or other areas.  Not everyone who flies in to Thailand visits Pattaya.  Phuket is also quite popular.

IMHO, Pattaya is probably the 4th destination of most travelers, behind BKK, Phuket, and the northern areas.

I Agree with Echster, the cheaper flights that are advertised are usually stopover flights.stopping somewhere on the way before you hit Bangkok. This means you have to get seats on 4 planes instead of 2.

Good one i saw on netflights.com,also trading under airline network.tel 08702410011 was THAI (direct) from Heathrow for £501 inc tax.Was available for travel out on May 11 but hurry and get dialiing!!

Anyone still looking for flights try Skydeals.co.uk, I've just managed to get BA direct from Heathrow to BKK for £595 (mid April) and they have plently of other seats on other dates.

Apparently they have an allocation direct from BA that other operators don't see...  they are part of the Tompsons group so that probably explains why.

On the Hotel front, try thaihoteldiscount.com unbeatable hotel prices, and loads of great offers.

Have Fun...
