The huge colour changing PATTAYA sign

On my visit to Pattaya recently I spent the few days I had marching the streets bounded by BR,WS and 2nd Road,and didn't venture off the beaten track whatsoever. On an upcoming,and much longer trip,I anticipate having a megaprowl. One question that I am curious about.....is there anything happening by the huge hillside illuminated Pattaya sign? And how to get there?? If there's nothing but the view,I might give it a swerve,but if theres food,drink or anything else I might make the hike. All information appreciated!

The Hollywood style sign is overlooking the harbor by Bali Hei Pier. The sign is mounted on the side of the hill by the Big Buddha. Not a lot going on down there except when they have a concert at the pier or if you enjoy watching the speed boats getting dragged out of the water. There is or used to be a good little Thai restaurant just after the light house, great place for food and a beer around sunset.
