Kudos to Waiters on Wheels and/or Punch and Judy

Today, I called Waiters On Wheels (WOW) and ordered a bacon-cheese burger from Punch and Judy. It was item 63032 on their menu, and came with hand cut chips and a salad...240 baht.

When the driver arrived, I paid her and took the box back to my room. What I saw was this:

 

 

 

 

I thought that must be what an English restaurant thinks is a bacon-cheese burger, but where are the chips? I had a few bits of the sandwich and stopped, realizing there was no burger in it at all. Hmm. Is that what an English burger is? I thought the cheddar cheese and the salty ham/English bacon was just too salty for my taste, so I stopped eating.

 

Out of curiosity, I went to their website www.wowpattaya.com, and checked the Punch and Judy menu. It appeared that I had gotten the "bacon and cheddar cheese sandwich" (130 baht) instead.

 

I called WOW, and they said they'd call the restaurant. A few minutes later, a call came and they said to return the sandwich, and a burger would arrive.

 

It did, I returned the partially eaten sandwich, and all is well. The burger was tasty and the chips were delicious.

 

Well done to both of them for fixing a problem without any hassle.

Ah, but the difference is I didn't call it room service, like somebody shilling for a guest house has done.

You don't have to call it room service. I did. LOL about my favorite guest house. Good chance I'll be staying there again this September. As far as shilling goes. I never heard any complaints about all the positive comments. I've made about the FLB over the years.

I'd correct you (and have done), if your comments about FLB were lies, either positive or negative.

Okay, a postscript to the story...the dispatcher at WOW was emphatic that I should give the other sandwich back, which I was fine with. I told her I'd had a few bites and realized there wasn't even a tiny burger inside, and she sort of sighed, but said "okay".

 

When the delivery girl came to deliver my real burger, I gave her back the other package, and she said, "oh, you can have it." I said, "No, that's okay, you keep it". She wasn't thrilled because I think that meant she had to go back to Punch and Judy's to return it.

 

Now that I think about it, it would have made a nice snack before going out.

I'm guessing that someone else got a bacon cheese hamburger that ordered something else. If they call to complain, they would get a half eaten sandwich to make it right

It's no damn wonder i eat mostly street vendor food---almost $8 for a burger, oh ya and frrys!

it's no wonder i come for the free pizza you serve on bar crawl nights.

i no it's differnt 4 expats, cann't eat thai all the time and get a craving 4 foods u grew up with but shouldn't you be having avacodo's and bean sprouts on ur burger instead of bacon

so my question is as u called WOW and they did get everything straightened out r they not the ones who are doing a bang-up job?

and u didn't mention the time frame involved. I'm thinking this whole orderal musta took a hour hour and a half? No wonder your so thin, i'd a been ordering anouther meal anyway

Definitely WOW steered the restaurant to make it right. The whole thing took about an hour and a half, but my hunger was sated by the small portion of the cheese/ham sandwich I ate

 

Okay, tomorrow I will order a chicken Caesar salad.
