Has any of you guys stayed at the Grand Inn on Soi 3 in BKK before?

if so, can you give me the total run down of the place! cost, comfort, good location, guest fees, etc... as the BKK Hotel Review does not give me that much of an idea!

Cheers in advance!

Stiffler.

stiffler,

I would always stay at the Grand Inn until I found the Dynasty. The place is OK and I would stay there again. They have about 24 rooms, 4 on each floor. They have 2 choices of rooms, one they call a standard with 2 twin beds for 1090 baht and one with a king bed for 1190 baht. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a little restaurant which is good for breakfast. A couple of the 'boys in brown' hang out in the restaurant at night, which was always a good feeling. The location is good, and you just needed to walk across Sukumvit to get to NEP or the Nana disco.

One thing I liked about the location is you don't have to fight the crowd and stalls going to your room, like you have to do going the Dynasty past NEP. I also like the 990 baht for a queen size bed at the Dynasty.  You can get a little price break at the Grand if you stay for a week.

I always stay at the Grand and paid 990 baht for their standard room with queen bed.  These rooms are in the back of the building so it's quiet.

Very friendly staff and they know your face which I like but others may not.  Guests leave ID at desk and then they call your room when the girl takes back the ID to make sure your OK.

24/7 access to house safe.

Their wake up calls always on time but I also ask the bellman to bang on my door if I'm not in lobby in time to get to airport on time.

Negative is no pool.

You feel like you're a million miles away from the madness of NEP even though it's only a 3 minute walk.

Not the sureal experience of Nana hotel.
