. Football is all about money now and has much more influence over what goes on than any other aspect.

Hi,

I agree. However, Man United are in lots of debt at the moment and the stock market dosen't think they are worth what the Glazers hype would have you believe. I like Man United's football style but you've been Glazered and it could be difficult for you in the future. Good wins for Champions of Europe, Chelsea, and City yesterday suggesting that both will be in the mix this season. Liverpool had a bad result but Man Utd and Arsenal had heavy defeats last season and came back. I'm looking forward to see how all the young managers including Rodgers and Laudrup get on this season. Laudrop was a great player and may beat the jinx on great players as managers. Only the odd one is a success as a manager.

Mr. Sam, if you consider the post-Sir Matt string of McGuiness, O'Farrell, Docherty (relegation included) & Sexton, all of whom were supposedly "the best available at the time" as a super success, then you are slightly deluded. As with the assesment that money nowadays would not let it happen; United were a hugely wealthy club back then too !

Have you not noticed how much football has changed since the seventies? United are still the most valuable football club in the world, a debt is only a problem when you can't make the repayments. Most Italian clubs are in debt yet still spend lots of money on players as United will continue to do.

See my answer to the post above. No examples to substantiate your theory that Fergie has an influence on the referees in the Premiership? What a surprise.

Hi,

Good performance by Everton. Very few teams will get many points there this season so not too bad for United. How good are Smalling and the other pretenders for centre half positions if Vidic and Ferdinanand have injury hit seasons ? Will Everton be able to hold on to Fellainai?

siam Sam.

no mention of the game today?,thought both goalies were the man of the match, especially MU goalie in the first half.

grayray

Fellaini was the best player on the pitch by a country mile, he was outstanding last night. United were very below standard and deserved to lose the game. I'm not going to start worrying yet, I don't even start to take much notice of the table until Christmas. No cause for concern yet.

Evra wudda been a better option at centre half than that crank/crock Carrick.Atleast Evra cudda reverted to some crass dirty tactics to deal with fellaini!!

Maybe pulled his hair or called him a bog brush or golliwog or something? Then Fellaini cudda called evra a negro & got a 8 match ban ,but that would fuck up fergies plans to raid his 'B' team (everton) again for their best players .

Utd are on the decline ,& will live in the noisey neighbours shadow until the arabs pull the plug.

Chockdee.

Hi,

Chelsea,Champions of Europe, go to the top of the league with a good attacking performance against Reading. They have to work on their defence but Hazard looks the business. Wenger wanted to buy him but Chelsea have all that dodgy Russian money. Torres could fire Chelsea to another title.

Hi,

Newcastle had a great win against Spurs last week so might be worth a little bet on one of those Asian Handicaps so beloved in Thailand. Chelsea looked dodgy defence wise against Reading mid week while Newcastle were preparing for this game.

I've adopted Newcastle for the season - I really rate Alan Pardew and he has a good system and some good players. Their last financials (up to June 2011) were pretty good and they appear to be continuing along the same lines since. Hopefully they won't be distracted by the Europa League thing - qualification for the CL next season has got to be the absolute priority. Looking forward to tonight's game - Cisse v Luiz could be interesting.

Hi,

Fernando Torres looks back to his best which must give Chelsea fans hopes of winning the League. Swansea have started the season in style and dont look like they will suffer from second season syndrom. RVP scores for Man Utd who look good going forward but dodgy at the back. Big game today, I think Liverpool need to get something out of this game. Whether they are able to remains to be seen. Good start to the League anyway.

Short of strikers should Torres go tits up ! I suppose Carroll would be a delightfully ironic back-up purchase for them, prior to 31st.

I think that's a fair assessment at the moment.

Hi,

Rooney got injured but it looks like Fergie is unhappy with him. Liverpool were very unlucky not to win against City yesterday. I'm happy with Arsenals start. They stood up to Stoke better than in the past. Stamford Bridge will be renamed the Garden of Eden if Hazard maintains his form all season.

Lots of "Johnny Foreigners" have looked good in August and September - cold November nights in Wigan are a different matter. Shinji Kagawa is looking far better value than RVP at the moment though. :thumbup

Hi,

Hazard comes from that glamourous place called Belgium. I'm sure he is used to dark dismal nights. Some of the Brazilian boys find it harder in Northern Europe than down in Seville alright.

Even though he scored on his home debut? :clueless

They both did but pound for pound the little Jap is better value .

He looks pretty good but if Van Persie scores twenty five times this season he will have been worth the money. (In Premiership terms)

That's not what you was confused about.CT said that the little jap looked better value at the moment .You as always are full of poo.

No get it right Torres. Tom said that Kagawa looked better value than Van Persie and I was referring to Van Persie when I said that he had scored on his home debut. They both scored on their home debut which is what has confused you but then again it doesn't take much to confuse you does it?

Kanagwa cost a lot less than RVP and will have a far superior resale value 4 or 5 years down the line. They both scored a goal, but Kanagwa's overall impact on the game was much greater than RVP's IMHO. The MEN summed up the difference quite well ...

So you hold Rooney responsible for United finishing the season without a trophy even though he scored thirty five times last season?
