Hi,

Villa are the stars of the weekend beating Liverpool on home soil. Paul Lambert seems another good Scottish manager. Rest of the round was a bit below par. Not too impressed this season.

Posted

Great win for Lambert and Villa, a fast-improving team that is underrated, IMHO.

My Liverpool loving mate wrote it off as "just one of those days", but Lambert has got his young squad firing.

Benteke and Michu vying for buys of the season ... oh, along with Stoke's Michael Owen ... :clueless :bhappy

Hi,

Well they started with a good away point against City. :bhappy The players seem to be a law unto themselves at Chelsea. It wouldn't surprise me if the Russian walks away.

Well let's hope so because without his money they'll go back to being the two bit club they were before he went there. Six points clear and looking good. Mmmmm

Hi,

You lost an 8 point lead close to the end of last season. I know Arsenal have overhauled Utd when they had a 12 point lead in the past. Reading look down already, I think they are trying to improve gradually, like West Brom, as they haven't invested much in the team.

What's the legal nonsense with Balotelli at City? I don't think they want that dragging on into the New Year.

If the truth be told, he has probably already been " moved on" and these are final tit-for-tat motions. "Blow me down" Nani looks to be on his way out from us too ( thank buddah ), and I wouldn't be at all surprised to find Schneider finally coming in as another "already done" deal, despite Sir Misery's reluctance to dabble in this transfer window. Falcoa and possibly Villa could be the real headliners tho'. All IMVHO of course!

I don't see what's in it for City (fining him) - unless they're only trying to encourage him to bugger off. Good to see Vidic, Jones and Smalling back for Utd though - they all look fresh going into the Xmas/New Year games.

Hi,

Vidic is good, but only playing for Man Utd. He would be sent off every week if he played for Arsenal. I remain to be convinced about how good Jones and Smalling are. Fergie dosen't seem to really trust them either. I've seen Jones interviewed on TV and he seems a nice chap but he has to do it on the pitch. Playing for the big teams requires more than playing for Blackburn.

I get Sky News here in Pattaya & they have just announced that Balotelli and City have brokered a deal to avoid legal action.

They also showed a clip of Balotelli attempting unsuccessfully to wrap a Xmas present.

His reason why he couldn't do it is hes left handed !!

cheers

Hi,

Everton are the team of the weekend getting a great away win despite some dodgy officiating. Arsenal and Man City struggle but beat lowly opposition. Liverpool hammer Fulham, can Rodgers put Liverpool back where they belong ? Happy Christmas to all boardies.

You mean second in the league this season? :llaugh

Hi,

I'm not a Liverpool fan but I'd like to see them back challenging for titles and European glory. Leeds are another team I would like to see challenging as well.

Hi,

Been enjoying the Christmas spirit and have seen little football. It appears Fergie has spit the dummy out on a few occassions. His team are conceding more goals than anyone else in the top half of the table. Hope Everton v Chelsea is a good game today. Dn't feel the quality is up to scratch this year but maybe it will improve in the second half of the season ?

Hi,

Man Utd look in good shape for the title. As a gooner I will be happy for RVP if they win it as he carried Arsenal to Champions League qualification last season,. Aquero will be a big loss for City if he is out for any lenght of time. I though Chelsea did really well to beat Everton after conceding such an easy early goal.

Hi,

QPR shock Chelsea. That was a surprise. No surprise as Everton beat Newcastle. Liverpool are climbing the table slowly. Good season for watching, even if the quality of defending leaves much to be desired.

We'll see where they are in a month's time. They've got a bit of a tough schedule coming up. :ninja:

Hi,

Tough run of games alright. It will tell us where the Rodgers revolution is going.

Hi,

Chelsea bounce back after a trying week. I think they are the best team in the League on their day. Beating Stoke 4-0 at home is the best result of the season. Big day today, Man Utd face a difficult game against Liverpool while Man City are away to Arsenal. Arsenal are the worst I've seen them in Wengers time, so I expect City to get a win at Arsenal for the first time in almost 30 years.

Trouble is Chelsea's "day" doesn't come often enough. :uh-uh:

Best thing they could do is cut their losses with Torres. How many chances has he squandered this season?

Did ya see the game against Stoke?

Hardly dominance.

Penalty to Stoke reversed, 2 OGs, soft penalty to Chelsea, Stoke's late pen hits the woodwork.

Just one of those days ...

As for today's big games, I don't think Liverpool or Arsenal have the physical presence to hang with Man U or City, though I have been wrong before.

Although nothing really changed at the top; I just got the feeling that United "won the league" today. However I did think that City lost it at Swansea last year. But 7 clear with diminishing games, and you can guarantee that the lower teams will be sending weakened sides up to us from now on in, I'm pretty confident that the league is done!

Hi,

I thought Liverpool could have nicked a point. United were hanging on at the end.

Agreed Wacmedia,

Gutsy fightback by Liverpool as before their goal it was looking like men vs boys. Sturridge and Suarez combo has potential.

Sturridge brings some spark but like Wellback for Man U seems to miss the easy ones or chooses the wrong option.

Hi,

Everything went wrong for Walters and Stoke on the day. Still, with Stokes home record it was a good win for Chelsea.

Hi,

Liverpool seem to have it over Norwich as they give them another hammering.Suarez and Sturridge seem to work well together. Silva had a great first half of last season for City, maybe he will have a similar 2nd half this season and drive them to retaining the title. He has been below his best so far. Two great games today. Chelsea are better than Arsenal at the moment but there is trouble in the camp. Spurs will have a go at United today. Should be a game well worth watching.
