What to pay at Lodge or House?

Recommended Posts

Finally, after twelve years I am hitting PTTY again in May. based on the hotels reviews page, I will opt for the Flipper House or Flipper Lodge. It's hard to decide based on reviews. Most reviews show a max of 880 baht paid. Both hotels web sites though show 1100 baht. So, what does one do? Hope for the best, turn up and barter a lower price or pay the 1100 baht when booking on their website? Any help greatly appreciated. (Oh, and if you have a standout preference between them, or other booking ideas, please let me know).

Cheers all

I've found that there are 2 things that determine the price that you pay for a room.  One is when you are visiting and the other is length of stay.  You shouldn't have any trouble finding a good room in Pattaya during May and you also have the 2 Eastiny's and Sunshine that are located on Soi 8.  For a 2 week stay, you should be paying around 800 baht.  If your staying longer you should be able to do better.

I went along the lines of what emil suggested above.  I determined the # of days, then e-mailed them, requesting the deluxe room and a discounted rate for x # of days.  I believe I paid 900/day for the deluxe for a 10 day stay.

I've stayed at the Flipper Lodge in October and paid 800 baht.My mates have stayed at both the Lodge and the House and theres really nothing between them.

Locations are good and you dont have to pay to bring a girl back which is a consideration as 200/300 baht per night all adds up over a week or two.

But in May you should have no problem turning up and getting accomodation at a discount rate.
