Info on Sandy Springs and Areca Lodge Please

Actually I think thats very likely, I hadn't really thought to much about that as the website say they always ask for high floors good views etc.....   Maybe I shoud just ask them to guarantee a high floor and I'll stop hassling them about the rate.

They had troubles with their mail server so all my emails were bouncing back until this morning, I'll need to confirm high floor ocean view whatever happens.

So far I have not contacted Sandibar.com, am still working with the hotel.

Just my two baht worth but I have a reservation at Sandy Spring January 18 for 5 nights at a rate of 1200 bhat for standard room.  This was booked direct through there web site.  I hope the beds are of sufficent size for another big (politically correct bullshit) man.

Bacon

Enjoy your self .

OK, Sandy Spring have agreed for the lower price for the 10 nights in February, thanks SoCalGuy you just saved me 5,000 bhat.  They will not give me the 8th floor as this is 2,500 and not available via Sandibar.com, or thats what they tell me.  I have told them I am paying that rate for the 10 nights in January and would they please confirm a high floor.  If they give me 5,6 or 7 I'll be very happy, if they give me a low floor I really won't be to upset.  I'm sure there sick of me by now.  Cheers

When a friend talked to Sandy Spring some time ago they said that they sell all the rooms as Standard rooms these days but will later introduce Deluxe rooms at a higher rate with a seaview guarantee.

So until then it's a mix of "first come" and whatever they have available.

Pat809,

You are correct, the eighth floor has suites with big bathrooms with separate tub and shower.  I stayed in one in November.

There must be very few rooms at Sandy Spring above the third floor which don't have sea views.  There may be a few that face across Soi 13 but should still see the seas to the North.  I don't think there are any facing East or inland.

After all the discussion, I think I will still pay the 2500 Baht and ask for the eighth floor on my next visit.  They are good suites with good bathrooms, geat big balconies, big beds and great views.

I assumed all the suites would be the same regardless of the floor.  I stayed in one on the 8th last time and thought it was great.   As I will get a suite on a lower floor this trip I'll let you know.  Cheers

I'm pretty sure that if you pay the 350bht membership you can get a Suite for 1990 bhat at the Sandy Spring. I think that it's worth it.

The membership that you guys are referring to here I did not know about previously.  Is this something you can request at checkin or is it needed prior to checking in to save the cash.
