Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

I'l be coming to Pattaya the beginning of February for 12 days.  I have a few questions:

1)Do I need to make advanced reservations for the whole time before I come?

2)I've looked through this and a few other sites extensively but I'm still alitlle confused.  Its impossible to find out distance wise how far away some things are.  How far from say Soi 8 is it to Pattayaland 1 or 2? If I stayed at Tim's Beer Bar how far/long a walk would it be to either Soi 8 or Walking Street?  5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes?

3) I've looked at the review section but is there a difference between Honey Lodge and Honey Inn? Does anyone know where it/they is/are located?  Anyone know what the prices would be like in February?

Thanks in advance for any help!  Any other advice is always appreciated.

Clark,

1)  You don't have to and in February you could probably get a better price walking in.   BUT, you are only gonna be there for 12 days why screw around to save a few bucks your first trip?  The difference would be like 600 baht a day instead of 800 baht a day - 200 baht = 5$.  I would book a room in advance.  But I would NOT pay in advance.  Maybe a small holding fee like the first 2 nights fee.  That way you could move if you decide you don't like it.

2)  If you can see a map of the beach road area (Soi 1 to Pattayaland), I jog from one end to the other and back in  around 50 minutes.  I am fat and old and NOT moving that fast.  But it doesn't matter.  If you are on the baht  bus loop (Pattaya South to North, 2nd road and Beach road) you can get anywhere with little walking and 10 baht (a quarter US $).

3)  Good damn question.  I'm looking for a new hotel myself and I think these two are the same.  It/they appear to be located on Pattaya South at the entrance to Walking Street which  is a good location for the action.

Best advice I can make is - go.  However you plan it things will change anyway.  You  WILL never forget your first trip to Pattaya.   ;D

soi 8 to Walking street by baht bus, no traffic, no stops about 3 minutes. Soi 2 to Walking street about 6 or 7 minutes. Tims Beer Bar to soi 8 a few minutes walking about 20 minutes to Walking street.. Pattaya is easy to get around by baht bus.

Lots of good places to stay, www.flippergroup.com  Flipper Lodge on soi 8 for 800 per night. Sky-Top Hotel 2nd Rd for 350 and up. email: skytop2003@hotmail.com

I'm involved in a business deal with the owner of Sky-Top on another hotel in Pattaya. It's a good hotel.

Hello Clark.

I walk a lot around Pattaya. You never can tell who or what you might find.

From Tim's bar to start of Walk Street or Soi 8, both about 10 minutes walk.

Honey Inn is on soi honey inn which starts on second road between soi 10 and soi 11 and ends at soi buakhao.

There is a Honey ?(Lodge?) hotel just off South Pattaya Road between Beach Road and Second Road. Looked at this place a couple of years ago. Has a pool but didn't think much of the hotel, from memory. Great location though.

I think both places are about 500-600 baht.

Have a good time. I hope to be there by end of Feb.

Clark...Make a courtesy reservation at some hotel.  Don't really worry about where everything is at, the Baht Bus system can get you anywhere in a short period of time {as you will find out}.

Flipper is a good one, just don't barfine the girls from that area..As you will find out after you walk by them with another TG...You'll learn to never walk the same way back to the hotel, once you've done that...

Any hotel in the Soi7 & 9 area is a good start for a first timer...

I would recommend you make a reservation, you can always change hotels for a different location or better deal somehwhere else. Feb is a busy time with the chinese new year lots of people that work in asia get time off. 2002 i was at the Haven when they broke ground on the Sandy Spring, at 7:00 am right outside my window litereally. I went to about 10 different hotels looking for a room before i got one at the Eastinny Inn ( soi 8 ) and i even had to wait one day for that one to open up. Good luck, B-Man!
