The standard rooms are very nice but beware that they are trying to take the place upmarket.  Which means ok for taking guests back but they give the girls shit at the front desk and they have a 300bt surcharge at Xmas per night.

I am going to stay at Sandy Spring for a month during Christmas and New Year.

After having read some "warnings" on other treads about their policy towards TG, I wrote them an e-mail about my TG-friend who is going to stay with me.

The answer came almost immideately, and states as follows: We have no problem with your girl friend.  We are looking forward to serve you.

3 nights in October.

Strange place. Good location on soi 13. Paid for all three nights on arrival. This is expected. Baht 2500 including tax and service (what service??) per night for one of the suites. The suite is big two adjoining rooms. TV and fridge in both. Sofa, two chairs and coffee table in one, king size bed in the other. Two bathrooms - this can be useful. Pool and sea view. Take your own soap and shampoo. Their's was army rations.

Although hotel was meant to be fully booked I hardly saw anyone else. Lobby was dead. No one used the bar. The coffee lounge was dark and appeared permanently closed. There is room service but it may well come from Haven next door...and you pay on delivery. Ma Maison and the Haven are opposite and next door for breakfast. The Royal Garden mall a short walk.

Air con is good. Rooms are clean. Hotel is quiet. It is very guest friendly. No questions; no id. Many cable channels - about 60 channels; an exotic collection from South Africa, Europe, Middle East and South Asia.

There are only a few hotels in the US$50-60 range. A suite at one of the mid range hotels works quite well. More space and less hassle than the 5 star hotels. For this reason the girls are often much happier in a three star than five star hotel.

Pattaya is busy at the weekend.

Superbaby still has the cutest of girls (some look very young). But they do like the Japanese and Asian guests. So not very friendly to westerners.

Happy and Peppermint were both very busy. Some cuties in peppermint and other girls there just having fun before going to Marine Disco next door which is running until around 3am, and has all sorts in there. It is a big crowd, mainly having fun and being deafened. Be cautious if you get your kicks out of more than alcohol. There are still raids.

Just follow the crowd after that. They know what is open and where.

Have fun.

Ling.

I only asked if my Thai girl friend could stay with me.

Look also what "Airbus" write about guest friendliness.  I do not care if the hotel looks empty.  I'm mostly occupied in my room, and like the hotel to have a good location.

Look forward to meet you and OJ Dec. 13 at FLB.

Stayed at the Sandy Spring for 9 days in October. I had a deluxe room and my friends had standard rooms. The Hotel was great my room was large, very clean, great TV with lots of channels and had two balconies, one overlooking the Soi 13 and the other overlooking the swimming pool.

Room service was fine and unlike what a previouse poster said, you do not need to pay on delivery.

Took a TG back nearly every night. (Different ones) no problems from the staff and never checked the ID's.

Used the bar in the lobby a few times, never anyone serving but if you stand at the bar someone comes running to serve you. Also in the lobby was a snooker table but you had to pay to use it.

I had a rented motorbike. The hotel had a parking space with a security guard to keep an eye on the bike for you. Every time I went to get the bike I found the guard had cleaned it for me!

The staff was friendly and all in all the only complaint I had is that the swimming pool closed too early.

Regards Chris
