Hi, does anyone know if its possible to get a Pattaya VoIP telephone number ? And if so could you tell me who the supplier and contact details please.

On a cell phone? For cell phone long distance that uses VIOP (I think) instead of the more expensive regular long distance rates, you dial 007 or 008 (or 009?). The long distance rates are considerably cheaper.

True issue a special SIM card (Inter SIM) that had good rates, particularly to land lines, for many countries. You use 00600 +country code etc.

I have found it to be better than Skype.

Why can't the people on the other end use Skype or Google Voice or whatever to call your Thai land line? That would be easy and wouldn't cost much.

Where does he say he has a land line? Maybe he is trying to get one, to be honest I am still unsure what the guy is after.

 

My landline is a supporting ornament for my ADSL.......only rings when I am up a ladder.

jacko, the only way to have a "Pattaya number" is with a land line (038...). Mobile numbers are nationwide.

Could be Chachoengsao, Rayong or Chonburi City too.......

 

If it a land line connection required, perhaps the TOT office corner of 3rd and Klang could be visited.

I was thinking of these virtual phones that were being hyped a few years ago where you theoretically could have any number.

But certainly a "Pattaya number" would have that prefix..or do you want to argue that point as well?

The OP also said VOIP not telephone land-line, but that didn't stop you arguing.

I found an old thread on Thai visa where someone claims to be operating a Bangkok (02) number from Japan using Cat2Call (obviously CAT)

Also this was mentioned.....Deecall.

Another mnetioned is Baht Call.

Oh, just to clarify..a 038 number is assigned with a landline, not a mobile nationwide number. Calling it landline was to distinguish it from mobile. Both can be connected as VOIP given the right setup.

The main point I was making was that for it to be a "Pattaya number", it should have the 038 prefix...and yes, that could also be another city's number, but Pattaya only uses 038 (for landlines which are tied to a location).
