Dynasty Inn Latest info

Recommended Posts

At the moment they're constructing a new building next door & they're pile driving the foundations . The noise can be heard all along soi 13 so any hotel in that area (especially the Dynasty ) should be avoided currently unless you're a sound sleeper or an early riser .

Derek,

Thanks for that bit of info. A question for you........

You say that the noise is to be heard right down soi 13......

I've just booked the "Sandy" for the first time and not being a reg visitor to soi 13  ;D I've no idea of the proximity of the Dynasty to the Sandy Spring.

I'd really appreciate ur advice. I've arranged for an upper floor which may help but I'm buggered if I want the windows rattling at 0800 (or worse), a couple of hours after I've gone to kip !!

I shall switch if u recommend so.

Cheers

I have reservations at the Dynasty Inn in about 2 weeks. If its the same one, and I have stayed there before, is located down Soi 4 Past NEP. Are we talking about the same place?

I would like to know so I can cancel my stay and find somewhere without all the noise.

Thanks,

Dynasty Inn is in Pattaya on Soi 13 and only opened 3 weeks ago.

Leotex - You are referring to the Dynasty Inn in Bangkok.  There is also a new Dynasty Inn in Pattaya.  This is what the post refers to.

I was hoping to try the Dynasty Inn (Pattaya) out for at least one night when I am in town in November.  I hope that the heavy noise is over by then.

I was at the Sanday Spring until 14/9, the building work next to the Dynasty had already started but was not a problem.

There is another block between the building lot and the Sandy which muffled the noise nicely.  It was faintly noticeable at worst, certainly gave me no problems and most days I didn't surface until around 2.00pm.  It is not enough to wake you up.

One very strange thing about the Sandy Spring is that they try to charge you for your full stay in advance.  This has happened to me on three visits despite being a member.  Don't pass over your credit card and expect them just to charge a deposit on it or they will immediately ring up the full bill.

This new construction is between the Dynasty and the Pattaya Beach Condo.  2 years ago I was staying at the Pattaya Center Hotel with a room facing Soi 12.  There was construction work on Soi 13 and the noise fron the pile driving woke me up every morning around 7 AM.

I would probably avoid the Sandy Spring as the pile driver was VERY LOUD & unless it has double glazing you would hear it . The Lek hotel should be avoided too as it is opposite the site . I also noticed a lot of construction on Soi 3 yesterday so it should be avoided too .

Turbo/grs90,

Thanks for the responses - if differing views !!

Think I'll sit tight for now (the worst might be over 6 weeks or so anyway) but only pay them for 1 night on arrival, retaining the option to move camp the next day.

Yep, Sandy wants advance paying. This summer I paid in advance once every week. Last time, in March, I paid every 4th day. Up to you how often you want to pay...

As for the noise, the windows (for most rooms) are on the other side of the building, but there is an open (no wall out) hallway against the Pattaya Beach Condo, and I can not imagin the doors to the rooms are stopping too much noise. I remember my door was full of small holes (I could actually watch into the room from outside...)

PS! When they were pile driving for Dynasty Inn, I was living at the old AA Hotel, and I could hear the noise too bloody well. It goes through anything....  >:(
